It would be nice to enjoy it a bit this summer, I haven't driven it more than 4 miles in 2 years lol.

My videos were full of ad's, annoying, and fixed lol.

I was married over the weekend, Daryl was there. Now to settle on paint, that may get put off until next year though. I don't want to put the windows back in before I paint it though.

I haven't really done anything with it other than drive it weekends and have fun, but I was in the junkyard cutting a harness out for my 2500 HD out of a 1500 and found this, had to have it, so some changes are coming.

So I've made a bunch of progress, got the 6.0, pulled the 400 and put it up for sale to buy 6.0 parts lol, life ain't nothing but a funny funny riddle lol.

Great score on the 6.0 for $170.

Re: The never ending build of Daryl

I actually found another in the same yard in a different video lol.

I'm curious how cheaply I can get it done for now, I see alot of people spend alot of money, and others doing it very cheaply and seeming satisfied.

So for now, I've torn the engine down, didn't find anything but stuck lifters, so I have replacement lifters I'm going to install tonight. New head gaskets, I'm making my own harness, I sent my PCM to a guy I found on Ebay to reflash. Since it was in front of a 4L60E, I already have the correct flywheel to mate it to my TH350 I believe. I should easily be able to have it in and running for under 1,000. Then i can sell my old stuff and offset the cost even more.

I'm currently into the swap for 325 dollars. I still need an alternator, water pump, adapter for my converter, new intake, and fuel system. Plus all the thing's I didn't think of there lol.

Re: The never ending build of Daryl

I was tearing it down due to the obviously collapsed lifters I found at least 3, and they were all seized in the block.

So I flipped the block upside down so the lifters would stay up while I pulled the cam, which was of course stuck, and two of the bearings came out with it lol.

So now I need to find out if anyone loans a cam bearing tool, because I'm not buying one, or get a quote for new bearings installed from the machine shop.

I tore the block down to bare, scrubbed it up, dropped it off at the machine shop for new cam bearings.

I've also ordered an Elgin cam, Pac 1218 valvesprings, and hopefully will be able to reassemble the shortblock this weekend.

I wish we had yards with LS engines. Not to mention that price!

I probably would have been money ahead to grab a complete 5.3 lol.

The guy at the machine shop tanked my block for free since it was so nasty lol, I need to have my wife drop the cam off to him so he can make sure it fits well.

Most likely brother. Prolly a reason the 6.0 was still in that truck.

"Chin up and come hard" is all you can do at this point. And cry, haha

Pretty much lol. I was a bit confused as to why someone would go to all the trouble of swapping it into a 1/2 ton then leave it to go to the boneyard.

But, the touch of gray here is now I can have my heads cut and get the C/R up lol.

I was able to get a few of the final pieces of the puzzle yesterday.

I have a two week vacation coming up, I hope to be able to get it fired then.
