The turn signals were held in with bailing wire and had no lenses on them. The bumper and the remnants of the original grille were painted a color similar to Argent Silver, but it wasn't original (so were the bed steps and mirror arms). I found an original grille locally and had it painted body color, including the shelves. I left the radiator support and inner fenders black. I second-guess my decision to go with a non-original color scheme from time to time. Personally, I think white looks better than silver on the front of these trucks.

I know it was hacked together, but I don't hate it.
Defiantly made me look twice. It could be cool if it was done properly:pty:

I am pretty much sure I agree with Tim here. Those shelves were painted green. I love seeing all the green on this truck, I do not think I have ever seen so much green. I have made the decision to go with the white grill but paint the shelves green. I know it is not original, but I like it. It is the only change I am making ot an otherwise original paint scheme.

My Fremont built 68 was argent silver. Painted the shelves white after I cleaned up the front end. I feel like the argent silver shelves wash out the polished aluminum trim surround. Before and after pics.
