Re: New member with barn find
It's still alive, I started the Blazer up and turned it around, I don't like to work too close to the chevelle. I didn't think it would run after removing so many wires. Ounce I get the pass side windshield frame and around the blower motor done I can get starter on the replacement frame. Click the engine to hear it run.

Re: New member with barn find
Well you have a lot of work there, but it is well worth it, they rock when they are done, less and less around now.

Re: New member with barn find
Wow! great build man. I have been lurking around for a couple weeks now but just noticed from your posts and the responses that there are several semi-local vintage blazer builds going on in the Philly area. I gotta get my thread started.....Keep up the good work.

Re: New member with barn find
I got alot done since my last post. First think if the MOD reads this could you move in over to projects and builds for me?
I bought a repop radiator support and mounted it up, I just didn't like the way it fit so I cut out everything my factory one needed, It took alot of time but it was worth it. Also I repaired my fenders that were trimed for larger tires and sand blasted the frame then painted it with POR-15 and some chassis black. I got a 2" all leaf spring lift for it and mounted the one tons under it so the wife and I could rolled the frame under the body. I hope to have the body finished and drivetrain back in for spring time. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/004-19.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/006-12.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/003-18.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/004-18.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/006-10.jpg |

Re: New member with barn find
Nice work lots of rust removal wow..
|
Re: New member with barn find
Very impressive John. Nice work! Can't wait to see it. I wish I had the time to learn how to do all the body work myself. If I had attempted that my Blazer wouldn't be finished for like 15 years.

Re: New member with barn find
Got the top on Today, I put the top on so I could check to see if everything will line up, and it looks good. I still need to bolt it down, fine tune the doors, weld in the rockers and get the hood on and then it's time for some bondo. I'm glad I kept the winch off my jeep, I mounted it in the garage attic and ran the cable thru the drywall.
Also got a chance to get the toys out and clean up. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/006-13.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...zer/002-19.jpg |

Re: New member with barn find
Not much to update, I've been working on door gaps and body shims. Boy what a PITA, I think I have the pass side door dialed in, the gap at the quarter panel is a hair over the thickness of a paint stick. On the drivers side I have a great body line but it's about 1/4" wide on top and a hair wider at the bottom of the quarter and the hing is back as far as it will go. If I lift at #3 body mount the top will get wider. Any ideas? before I elongate the lower hing bolt holes.

Re: New member with barn find
Here's some pics, I've heard of the 2X4 in the jam trick but the door lines up great it's the gap that is off. I had it dialed in before ( see post 55) I wonder if it could be the hinges, they are from a 68 c10 and look a little different. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ps251738a4.jpg

Re: New member with barn find
Add your pics now we want to see how much you have been loffing around doing nothing to the blazer like myself . All I have done is spending money on parts/parts that Iam not even close on using LOOKS GREAT JOHN

Re: New member with barn find
Here's a couple Dave. I pushed it out of the garage so I could install the hood. I did the old hang the hood from a pulley them role the blazer under it and push the hood back to the hinges trick. I'm still messing with the door gaps, I'd like to get the gap at the quarter to door closer.
I think it's time for us local guys To plan a wrenching party at Dave's house and get his blazer running and ready for the street. Springs coming! :metal: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ps2ee61616.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...psff39ca55.jpg |
Re: New member with barn find

Re: New member with barn find
Almost ready for paint. I have some work to finish on the inside and maybe tweak a fender or door but it's ready to go. I have a body guy all lined up but he wants to finish up a 66 nova before he take the blazer.
