Re: 72 k20 project
pretty decent haul for the old chev this week
the rebuild for the front diff came in. OEM spicer stuff. ring and pinion, carrier and pinion bearings, shims and ring gear bolts. oh, and a gasket. 3.54:1s to match the rears. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...psb2598398.jpg this arrived so i could show Matt. Thanks again Ryan Hx55 for my compound set. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...ps2a957bd2.jpg and these came from ballistic. the tube bungs and the jambs came from ruffstuff. i ordered 1.25"x1" rod ends, misalignments and adapters from ruffstuff also, but they wont be here till next week. they had an inventory issue with the jamb nuts and didnt send them. :waah: http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...ps0deea8d2.jpg |

Re: 72 k20 project
You gonna mount the remote filter in the cab where you can look at it all the time? It's a shame to put some of this stuff where nobody can see it!

Re: 72 k20 project
Oh my . That is some nice work you have done there. Ive seen lots of trac bars that are just the bar with a heim mounted on the lower portion of the axle tube. Then the upper heim mounted to the frame closest to another vital pivot point . Ie center of u joint if using a hanger bearing, or even with u joint at the transfercase if 1 peice shaft.
Wont this work? I think the truck is kinda squirely under accelleration and decel becouse my current setup is the orriginal 56 1/2 ton springs with the 4inch dodge blocks on them. Thats a lot of leveredge and not too much spring pressure . I hope to get some new springs under all 4 corners later this summer . But for now I need to make it feel a little more comfey when you get on it and grab a gear. ! I was hoping some cheepy bars would bandaid this. I allready have the heims. |
Re: 72 k20 project
Thanks
That style will work, but will not do as much as if it is triangulated. it will still be able to twist the spring but just do it on the axis of the rod instead. it will certainly help but if the springs are soft it may still twist them a little under hard accel with good traction. |
Re: 72 k20 project
Great work Ryan! Just ditch the speed sensor and put a plug in it. Then you will have a little room there.
