Re: Crash's 72 K10
I am not sure about the truck weatherstripping but if its anything like 69 Camaro seals I would buy Metro brand and stay away from SofSeal. The Metro is more like OEM. I used a SofSeal trunk lid seal and liked not got the trunk to shut. After it did shut it stood the lid above the quarters a good 1/8" of an inch even after days in the sun. It is Metro all the way for me!!!

Specifically post #5. I love the push on weatherstrip. The only downside is that they take a little time to flatten so your door will be hard to close for bit, but they seal great! Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Love the new steering wheel and cruise setup. Do you have a punch list or what? It's almost like you plan on finishing this truck within a year:)

I need the door opening weather-stripping to get the doors fitted. Still debating if I want to go with the standard windshield seal or the deluxe version (the one with the stainless trim). |

Slick touch on the bed floor, Mark. I wish I had a tenth of your skill.

This is coming along really well, the gas cap in the bed is just perfect, very nice touch. How do find the compressor in keeping up with your sandblaster?

Nice progress! I had the same vision for my Boyd fuel cell fill. Glad you did it first ;) Where did you get the filler from?

Re: Crash's 72 K10
Update time.. Started the weekend with looking over the rubber kit I got from GMSPAUL’S (not sure what is going on, but it was shipped from Brothers). Everything looked good, except that the shipment was short a few parts (they were back ordered and I should get them in a few days). My plan is to get all the gaps set correctly so that I can tear it all down and send the parts to Kyle for paint. ;)
First step was to install the push on door seals.. I was very satisfied with how they fit.. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290120.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290121.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290122.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290123.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290124.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9290125.jpg After fitting the doors, I started in on the fenders.. the passenger side fit well except for the profile of the door and fender were not the same.. Not sure what to do about the issue.. considering laying the fender on the floor with blocks of wood under the top and bottom and attempting to flatten the fender out some to better match the door.. It really isn’t that bad, but I would like to get it closer. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300129.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300130.jpg Still some work to do.. but it is starting to look really good… (in my eyes) http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300131.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300132.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300133.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300134.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300135.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300136.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300137.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300138.jpg Still have some work to do on the cowl.. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300139.jpg After that my beautiful and super freakish strong wife helped me to set the bed on the frame.. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300140.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300141.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300142.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300143.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/P9300144.jpg Getting the bed setting on the frame made me smile a little.. I know there is a ton of work left.. but damn.. it is starting to look like a truck again… Looks like I am going to have to work on the rockers some to get them to match up with the doors…. But hey.. that is what happens when you mate Taiwan metal to USA metal… ;) This week, I am going to start searching for some NOS parts.. windshield and back glass chrome/stainless trim, mirrors and bumpers (doubt I go NOS on the bumpers, most likely repo…) |

Re: Crash's 72 K10
The black really shows the lines well, doesn't it? Did you out new body mounts in? The bed appears to be higher by 1/2 an inch or so.
Kudos to your wife for the lift! :) Posted via Mobile Device |
