Great news Chad, I'm glad to hear your back. Can't wait to see some updates on both trucks. and your right it's no fun doing this hobby by yourself, you need people to share it with.

Did you just repaint or did you go with new?

Original GM metal, just worked and repainted. Thats right out of the gun. Painted Friday night. I still need to cut / buff but they wont need a whole lot.

Awesome! It would have sucked not so see you around the forum sharing your knowledge and advice. Not to mention not getting to see your build threads progress. Great to see you're back.

Ok enough with the emotions :D Kinda reminds me of an ex-girlfriend I used to have, couldn't leave her so I made her my wife  Let's see some progress with some more pics :metal: Did you get the wheels on yet?

CC69Rat 08-28-2012 01:06 PM

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Concentrating on the interior and finishing up the bed while we have it off. I have decided to put my black buckets in the GMC, black CST door panels and just little hints of tan here and there. GMC logo in the console, sun visors, headliner would be tan. Of course the column, glove box, across the top of the dash, etc.

I have two consoles, one for my stepper and another I am restoring now for the GMC.

I'm thinking maybe a GMC logo in the floor mats or something, hard to say but it looks good with black / tan.

I think I'm just going to put a picture of all the wheels I like on my dart board. Close my eyes and one dart, one shot. That's the wheel. But, wheels will be last. It may be spring though. Sigh.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Good choice on doing the wheels last.
Plus alot of new wheels will debut at SEMA in November,... or come out in 2013.
You may have more choices. Ha.

shawno72 08-28-2012 01:17 PM

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Yes the wheels are a BIG decision, I am actually contemplating going back with the original stock steel wheels with full wheel covers.

:drama: your killing me! Any progress on the bucket seat brackets Chad? Glad to see your not going anywhere...

CC69Rat 08-28-2012 02:08 PM

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

 Threw a couple wrenches, slammed a few doors.. now, Im over it. Where was I again? Hehe..

Dad is still working on the bucket seat brackets. We have one in mock up now and its in my truck. It sits about an inch lower in the back and we're still adjusting the front part / height of the seat. The plan is to offer the brackets with .5" plates to give you more or less tilt to the seat.

More to come soon.
