Ally fuels are not known for their efficiency. My engine quy said it will not get over 6mpg on gas. $2.50 or $7.50 per gal, I went with the $2.50 you just use a little more. On the bright side it never gets hot putting around town in traffic and I'be never fowled a plug. Try that with a 1000 cfm 4150 gas Holley, you'll change plugs every third stop sign!

I know your pain about the lay off deal. I saw it coming, couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't find another job for a year and half. It sucks! Big old **** sandwich.

My friend is a weld supervisor in a pressure vessel shop, if you can pass a 6g w/X-ray inspect, mig or tig $20 + per hr to start. They need 10+ welders. Personal message me if you want to know more.

I almost went e85 when I built my motor but decided to stay pump friendly.. I plan to drive the wheels off this thing this year if I'm still working! We will see how it goes but until that day comes I'm plugging away at this thing...

Re: MY build thread...

E85 is starting to be pretty common, I'd be using it if a local station carried it. The place I get my race fuels from has it. But I I have to bring it back by the barrel, it won't be road fuel.:smoke:

Ok that made me laugh.
I just pictured your poor truck falling apart as you drove it, scattered parts and bolts bouncing down the road behind you.....

Too funny.

man the truck is looking good! how tall of a intake do you have and how tall is your air breather?? i think you should keep them rims on it for a while before you have to give them to the old man, lol!! i like how they look on your truck!! i've been wondering why you haven't been on lately, but i know how it is, you got to do what you got to do family first, truck later!!

My intake is a professional product hurricane about the same height as a Vic jr. Measures 6.06" from intake floor to bottom of carb pad and the air cleaner is a 5". I wish I wouldnt had sold them
But it is what it is....

I'm going to try to hang the hood this weekend and get the park lights and tag lights wired then it's time to have some fun

Re: MY build thread...

Well hood is on and wired and just about everything tightened down and ready for a longer road trip but I need shocks for the rear badly. I just don't know what to get. Then doing a side job this past weekend cost me more money than I made when a cylinder on my skid steer sprung a leak and apparently the shaft is also bent!!! Great.... Anyways, any ideas on shocks and also an idea for a front swaybar! I don't have the factory mount locations for a stock bar either.

Funny you should say that because I got shocks for it today and realized I was missing a shock bolt....

Re: MY build thread...

Took KarmA for a ride with the wife today. Went into town, did some stop and go driving in 75 degree weather and barley got to 170 degrees. Went to Midas to get a quote on exhaust and now think I'm gonna build it myself!!! Wow$5-800!!! So we went out to eat and drove around town some then home.... Without an issue, well major anyway! I have a tranission leak somewhere, fuel sending unit doesn't work, trans kinda surges when slowing down in 4th,has a vibration in the frontend,72 steering box leaks and it pulls to the right when hitting the brakes... But it runs down the highway nicely and keeps up with traffic and gets lots o looks.. So I have more work to do! Thanks everyone for checking out my posts and answering my questions...
