It will make the truck so sick not that it is not already sick. I was hoping you were going to put the trim on because it will change the look of the truck completely.

Thanks man. I'm gonna run it as is till I can save up for some nice mar-k trim but I definitely plan on it eventually. The side trim on these truck compliment the body lines so nicely I can't not put it on

Beautiful truck.
I think it would look sweet with "just" the lower woodgrain mouldings.
(no upper mouldings at all)

Trust me I've contemplated it but I just can't make up my mind. I think both would look great, its a tough one for sure

Had to get a car cover to protect the shiny paint. Truck Shop for 70 bucks, I think it fits pretty good except for the mirrors haha

Those are some nice pics. What are you using for a camera? Truck's looking GOOD! Are you doing the trim around the tail lights and upper gate? What are you doing on the tailgate, wood trim, stamped Chevrolet?

Thanks Duane!! The camera is a Cannon, not sure what kind it is just borrowed it from my girlfriend. The tailgate will have upper trim, chrome sleeve over the tailgate handle, woodgrain tailgate band, and trim around the taillights. I want it to be all trimmed out like a Cheyenne Super

I vote for lower trim only. These trucks loose some of their character with no trim. I feel that the upper is too much.

I love the plan. Jane's gonna look killer when she's finished. :metal:

Thanks Jeff!!! Long time no talk, hope things are well man. I plan on having it ready by the end of winter. Now that I have it in my garage at school I can order parts and work on it whenever I find the time. Money is a little tight right now but I start a new job next month and that should change. Fingers crossed it'll be ready for summer and all the shows within a reasonable distance!!

I'll probably do lower trim to start and if it works I'll leave it at that. Its probably the hardest decision I've had to make on the entire truck haha. That one chrome strip can completely change the attitude of the truck

Thanks man. Idk if it'll ever be finished but I hope the first part is true:lol:
After I get this thing together there's a phase 2 I've been thinking up (I think I have a problem). My buddy is pretty handy with a tig welder so I wanna build another frame from scratch, bigger notch in the rear to lay frame, square tubing for frame rails and round tubing for xmembers, built in front clip and xmember, carbed ls3 w/ 700r4 trans, raised bed floor, shaved firewall, acuair on all four corners, the list goes on. That might be a few year down the road tho:uhmk:

knomadd 10-24-2013 12:21 PM

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Are they ever really "finished"? Mine aren't, I know that. Most people think my GTO is done, but I've been working on it while I drive it ever since I bought it. I will be doing the same thing with my 71. I've got grand plans for both and not enough money or skill for either.

Sounds like you need a second project truck. Leave this one and do your phase 2 on a second truck... We're all addicted to building killer rides, or we wouldn't be on here all the time.

How did you make the rear wheels fit inside the bed? Do you have a shorter rearend, or what is the offset of those wheels? Love the truck, looks awesome.
