That he is! I'm going to do a better burn out once I get the motor tuned up. Fire dept will probably think the shop's on fire!

Now thats bringing one back from the dead...looks good. Nice 55-57 gmc projects are hard to find with intact grills and emblems.

Heres a couple links to mine(to not clutter your thread with my pics)

I put a 78 camaro z28 clip in it,69 camaro 327,th350,81 firebird 10 bolt,posi 3.42 gears

the rechrome on the front end was $$$!

I got a feeling you are gonna hate the way yours drives with that straight axle....mine was more point and shoot than drive with some decent HP....

^ Nice! Your truck has a great stance. Yea Im not looking forward to what the rechrome is going to cost either. But it will be worth it. Im not too worried about the straight axle, what I am thinking though is that I will be putting discs on the front once I get it going. That motor may have sat for 30 years but someone rebuilt it prior to doing so and it wants to go!

I tried the disk brakes/power steering route on the straight axle....the brakes were good but the PS had some evil bumpsteer. The camaro clip and power brakes under the floor were by far the best mods...its by far my favorite vehicle I own. The clip is about an 8 hour job if the motor/trans is out and the front sheet metal is off, though I have done a few. I have one to do this winter for a friend,Ill make sure to take pics and do a write up.

Haven't updated this thread in awhile, But the doors are now primed and I just set the bed back on today. Was out cutting wood the other day too and found an old hood...so I did this with it!

Thanks it's coming along, got all that ugly red paint stripped off the bed. Working on getting that ready for primer, will be able to finish the exhaust up once I get a rear bumper. I think I'm going to see what I can do to get the bumper closer to the bed in the rear because from other trucks I've seen there is so much space between it and the bed. I don't like it! Going to do something cool with the taillights too, don't really like the stock one's too much.

Not much to update on. Been helping my dad get his old 72' suburban going again so it can be my mom's DD. But other than that I've gotten the bed stripped and need to find a rear bumper for it. Or maybe I'll make a roll pan or something....I dont know yet.

Couple of the burb. My dad put a 502 BB in it probably 10 years ago. Used to be our tow rig, until he bought a duramax.
