Picture dump in progress! Final hood, doors mockup done. Disassembled the bed. I planned on re using the cross members and front panel, but decided to replace them when Brother's Trucks had their spring sale going on.

So far the hood has been Primered and Blocked twice. we ended up finding some imperfections after the first coat. Beyond time consuming but knowing that most body shops would have stopped 2 steps earlier keeps me going. I'm gonna be afraid to drive this thing!

This is the bed assembled. perfectly squared and front panel DP epoxied and bolted in for good. The rear crossmember is also bolted, welded and epoxied.
I modified the tailgate with parts from s chevy colorado. I modified the tailgate to accept the half circle part that makes it so you can remove the tailgate without taking the hinges off. ( like the newer trucks). Added Mar-k stainless straps and latches. Filled the holes in the gate where the chains were before. |

As a side note I'm doing some work for a friend's truck. He pulled it our of a field in Georgia so I'm trying to make it drive able for the summer.

Re: Eric's 1966 Turbo 6.0 build
Is the turbo exhaust going to run outside the frame and out back, or a hater pipe through the fender, or what?
I've got to plan out the same on my '61, and I'm looking for ideas. :D Thanks! |

New Year, New Update. Long Story Short, WE found out my shop Dog Charlie has ( had) cancer in his jaw. As we prepared for the surgery and many months of taking care of him, I decided I wanted to give him a great summer just in case. Sold My lifted K20 and picked up a 73 c10. Not the prettiest, but solid for Ohio. 383 th350. Did tons of burnouts and went to all the car shows this dog could handle.Attachment 1970572

Once 5 teeth and the upper jaw were removed, and we had him stitched up 3 times ( Stubborn Dog) he was given a clean bill of health. SO I got busy the last few weeks......

Re: Eric's 1966 Turbo 6.0 build
AS of Now I'm fighting decision paralysis. I can finally start assembling and the " where do I even Start" Mentality is kicking in. So I'm taking lots of small bites and taking my time and hoping it adds up to progress. Next big job is the American Autowire harness and The Holley Terminator to wire.

Re: Eric's 1966 Turbo 6.0 build
Sounds like Charlie had a very cool summer! Good to hear he got a clean bill of health.
Small steps always is a good way to move a project forward. Pick a task and complete it, even if it is just putting in a light bulb or two. |
Great build man. Definitely follow this one.
