My dad's '39 Chevy 1/2 ton short bed when he bought it, around 1982.
He stripped it down, sand blasted it, and then it sat for 10 years. Sold it to the neighbor for $800. 5 years later he bought it back for $400. Currently it has a Pontiac front sub frame and 305/350 (it was free). I'm trying to get him motivated to finish it or sell it to me.

OK it's not GM but it's close. It's an REO Speedwagon (not the band). REO is the initials of Ransom Eli Olds, the founder of Oldsmobile.

My dad bought this 1946 in 1958 and used it on the farm. It sat since 1962. I started restoring it 4 years ago. Just wanted to show it off. I thought you might like it.

Great looking truck. Does it have glass?

Yes, we had all new glass cut. It took me 3 months to build a new crank out windshield frame.

Building a new window frame is something that I would like to see documented here. Any pics of how you managed that?

I have two that I can work with but neither are much to start with. I was thinking that I would just eliminate it but it is such a cool feature that the time spent would be worth it to me!

These cars are really old yet nice. They are worth keeping for. There are only few left with this type of car now and I guess no other manufacturers.

I'm 50YO and I still hear my dad tell a story about how I had the brand new lawn mower completely disassembled in the garage when he got home from work one day when I was about 8. OK, 42 years later and he still tells the story like it was a Bently that I trying to figure out how it worked. I'm thinking that the lawn mower may have never been the same?
