Nice find! That thing shows something different between the K/20s and the 2 wheelers. Here's a pretty basic model yet,of the options it has,I'm looking at two rare and desirable options...tow hooks and 8.25 wheels. Nothin' pretty, just truck stuff. These trucks were about function and they are all cool with no options at all. Options like these were all about function. Take the most loaded 2wd out there with all the sporty options...big block, tach, posi. It still has the same wheel as a total stripper. The wide wheels look cool, but the option was for "flotation" tires which was to enhance off road performance. This fire dept got what it felt it needed and nothing else, including no lock-outs. Figure it was for brush fires and if it was going out,it was going off road. No time to be stopping to "lock'em in" and it ain't no turnpike cruiser needing to free-wheel.

And I've always loved these two trucks that belong to member Dean...as much as I like the vintage look of the old school white wagon wheels, steelies with caps and slots... these old Turbine wheels look just right on an 8 lugger.

Some more great trucks. The finned aluminums/Turbine/Vectors were always my least favorite, too, back in the day. But,as time has passed I like anything from the period. Makes me wonder why I didn't like them so much back then. Maybe it's now that these trucks are such gems and back then I thought they weren't tough enough...to street purdy. Slots were my yoomya wheels of choice.
You can barely see them on my old work truck in '86:

Re: The Big Boys:Let's See Those K/20s & K2500s

I think 8. I had a three truck fleet of Medium Olive for my business back in the '80s .Started with a '71 Custom/20,found a '70,then a '71 I painted to match. I've had at least one ever since. I had a real special truck at one time (until it got stolen). It was a '71 K/30,or that's what I always called it. It was a Custom/30 with a Napco conversion. Just a base truck with only a few options. I assume it was a cab & chassis model. I didn't even know GM didn't make 1t 4wds when I bought it but I knew it was unusual. I just liked that it had 30 emblems and a Napco axle. It was pretty rusty when I got it and and I was planning to swap cabs. It was at a shop to get a flatbed dump installed after selling the utility body when it disappeared. To this day I believe the S.O.B. shop owner had something to do with it.

Here's a few of a 72 I owned. My dad and I restored this truck from the ground up. Sold it a few years back - bad decision.

I'd regret selling that one too. Nice work... lovely the wheels too. My parents had a 66 corvette, same color, same wheels. Man this brings back memories...
