Very few gas stations in our small town. Valero just passed $4 cash price (+ 10 cents for credit card) for 87 octane. Summer isn't here yet.... this year could get interesting.

We spend as much for food now as we used to spend 10 years ago when all 3 sons were at home.

Of course, food has the price of fuel mixed into the cost.

Nampa Idaho $3.10 I bet I do not spend over $25 a month for gas as about every thing I need is within 5 miles of home ,and being retired ,no more miles to work and back ,, now that summer is coming and camping is figured in ,, and each of my camping spots are about a tank each trip ,,going and coming home,,,,I will use up probably 120 gallons...

Food prices are a different story .. I do not want to think about how much groceries are going to cost in another 10 years .. higher than heck right now .

We're 26 miles one way from the nearest little town with a grocery store and parts and hardware store. But it's about 60 miles just to the edge of a town with real shopping (actually 40 miles the back way but that takes as much time and fuel). I don't know now about ever going camping and traveling now that we got our pickup and canopy. But somehow we have to get down to southern Colorado for a "duty" (Lonesome Dove type thing).

Not just food prices - there may not be much available. We're trying to buy some things locally like eggs and beef/lamb. Never had much luck with a garden around here.

I think that we should all just collectively bend over right now. Grab your ankles! They've got us all by the short hairs.

Anyone who has been in the military might well remember the word "BOHICA"

Translates to: ''BEND OVER, HERE IT COMES AGAIN''

Bringing this thread back as a comparison from March to current prices.
We jumped a quarter in the last two weeks..$2.95 to $3.19, and for no explanatory reason.

Oil just hit a peak not seen since 2014. Wild how it’s spiked just in 2021. Now about $80.....For Just a Barrel.

Propane is also at a high not seen in over 5 years.

And a little over a year and a half ago, oil was trading in the negative. Yes, literally paid to take it.

I just checked it because I didn't remember the actual number.....$-37

Yep, just fueled up yesterday. Looking around while it fills and I look at the sign. What??

Maybe if they didn't call it a mountain chart it wouldn't climb so high

On Tuesday here in Ontario 1.31 a litre,Wednesday 1.45 back down on Friday to 1.38, just because it is a long weekend here for Thanksgiving, they always blame the higher prices on that!

From what little I understand about it -- if the price of energy (of any type) increases for any reason, all other energy types tend to increase also.

I could be mistaken about that..... it's been known to happen before. ;)

They always blame it on something. It's all BS. The real reason is greed.

$4.95 a gallon here today. :censored:
