Just rewire the aftermarket radio. All it needs is constant and switched 12V, ground and the speaker wires. Just used a constant hot, and a switched hot from the fuse box. IMO that would be much easier than trying to fix the hacked up mess you probably have....

Went to the junkyard today and got the original tow hooks they were just laying on the truck. My question is where do these bolt to on the frame and what type of bolts should I get

Up here i'd use grade 8,or the gold ish coloured bolts,so it's not the weakest link

I got the tow hooks bolted up a few mins ago. I also got my radio wiring fixed today and have a stock radio in it but I found out it's junk and will have to get another radio but oh well it does look better with a stock radio in it. I also got a clock and cluster lense out of a 83 Silverado.

That interior is a real survivor! Those center caps on the wheels are a nice bonus as well, all the color is still good. I see you replaced the missing piece of grill trim. That truck really is a peach.

Thanks the interior is in GREAT shape the only thing left to really do to the interior is recover the headliner. I replaced the gauge cluster surround with another one out of a 84 diesel so thats why it has the lights at the top between the speedo and gas gauge my only reason for replacing was because someone cut my original for that stupid aftermarket radio. The grille trim was a must it looked bad and it came off the 84 diesel also I replaced the top piece and the right fender piece.

Hey Guys
Here is my 87 K5 project. I bought the K5 off craigslist for $1500 bucks and it was VERY nasty when I got it. I've had the interior out and cleaned it up really good. I need to Get a K5 emblem for the fender, get the tailgate trim, fix vent window that shattered, fix passenger door trim, and get the rest of the parts I need for it. I'm probably going to remove the footsteps on it I'm not really a fan of them. :chevy: I will get pics up in a few minutes.
Korey

I guess I would call it a NICE SCORE to get a Blazer like that for 1500.00
You said it was a Project, Are these before and after pictures? Or after pictures?
No matter It is easy to see this blazer got a good home.
Looks Great! It is not easy to find a Blazer that nice these days.

This pic of the engine was when I first got the K5 it was really dirty and the air cleaner tube was missing. The after pics are above of the engine bay I still need to paint the air cleaner lid and I may do that this week along with the grill trim if I can find a close enough red.

The Center Piece of the grill painted red looks great. It adds a lot to the Blazer. What did you mean you "Got your grill painted", Does that mean you took it to a body shop for that paint or you painted it? Just curious

Exhaust.... I always like the Deep sound of 2 1/2" to 3" pipes.
