Beautiful Boxers you have......I love Boxers.

Here's a pic of my other boxer Buster the brother of my female, that's no longer with us, Cancer got him at the age of five.

198plus is really down in the dumps right now. His door situation is driving him crazy. I feel sorry for him he is really a great guy. He picked up 2 more used doors Sunday they are in better shape than the ones pictured earlier, but still needs alot of work and patches. He is very discouraged right at the moment, like we all get working on these old trucks, and thinking of hanging it up. The way the bodyshops have taken advantage of him, I really don't blame him for feeling that way. I just need the boards help to boost him up a little. I'm trying to get this truck done for him as cheap as posssible, but as most of us know body work is very tedious and time consuming.

198 I hope you don't get upset over this post, I just want to boost your spirits some. Step back and take a deep breath.

Well, what I have to say is that one has to shrug it off and forge ahead if you want to see it thru. Ive had my bad moments and they turned out in the end. I was sold a cracked engine block and I found a bunch of cab damage that I had to fix. I ended up getting the new engine going quickly because I had spent the time to set up the first one correctly. The cab damage ended up being a big back window conversion. In both cases I learned new stuff and challenged myself. Ive also gotten good deals on stuff and in the end it brings the $ average down. If one wants to see the truck in one piece and drivable it takes some banging of the head to get it done sometimes.:banghead:(thats why this smiley exsists:lol:)

What really frustrated me about this entire topic is Alan is going to take care and finish two trucks before I completely tear down my 1st. ;)

198, just roll with it man. I know its money, but in the end your going to have a nice truck opposed to a pile of sheet metal. Yeah you got hosed in the end with those doors that the other shop took from you, but when your all done you'll have a story to tell and well photos to show off your little journey.

Protrash I didn't know you had to use your head to bang out the truck. Guess I'm doing it wrong.

198, the more I take off my truck the more I find that I have to fix that was hidden, just keep at it will get our trucks banged out if we use our HEADS.

Thanks fellers for the motivation. 198 is all happy because he solved the door issue. I pressed on today welding up the seam in the fenders and worked somemore metal and started wiping the fenders. I brought one front/rear fender home so I can work at home and at work when I have nothing to do.

I wish I could get them both done, my truck will lag behind for the most part. Heck I'm also still working on the damn kitchen. It sat for a month with nothing being done.

Keep the chin up 198plus. The last two daily drivers I bought both had the tranny go within a month of getting each of them. We all learn to except that cars will cost money and give us grief. Hmmm kinda like our wives. But we do it because of the reward when it is finished. Alan does some nice work, and your truck is in good hands now.

Got some work done tonight on the LT bed fender. I spent 2.0 hrs to get this much done.

It took 3 wipes to wipe all of this due to the heat it was a battle. I got it all on without loosing any due to hardening. I used 36 grit to knock the crust off. Then followed up with 80.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...d/DSC00219.jpg

Used air tools to get too this point then guide coated.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...d/DSC00225.jpg

Hand blocked to this point. Need to wipe again after I take care of a couple of high spots.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...d/DSC00226.jpg

I didn't have my camera with me yesterday to take pics of the fenders after welded them up and first wipe.

Vey nice Alan. I'm glad that 198's spirits are back up. We all have those crushing moments where we feel like throwing it all in the bed and posting a picture of it for sale on Craigslist or AutoTrader.

Looks good! Doing filler work in this Ga heat is definitely a test of speed when it comes to wiping large areas.

You got that chit right.

So far I've wiped about a 1/3 of a gallon of rage extreme on this fender. Damb that's a big fender. Wiped the whole thing.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...d/DSC00228.jpg

Roughed it down with air tools. I try to use air as much as possible, cause we all know how much fun blocking is.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...d/DSC00229.jpg

Almost got it blocked. The topside is blocked with 80. The side is mostly blocked. I was hopeing to get it all blocked tonight, but ran out of elbow grease.;)

Awesome work Alan and 198plus keep up the spirits! I know what you mean, I was sold my truck with the original dark blue license plates, well when I needed to get them registered I had to send one of to place I bought it from. Turns out a week later they close shop all phone numbers, email etc is disconnect and now I have new plates on my truck and the other one hanging in my garage as a reminder. Cheers all!

It's a bodyshop calculator. The minus button has been removed. ;)

It's getting closer to being ready for primer.

This is about how much I can spread at one time before it kicks.

I wonder if anyone else has kept up with their time spent on straightening and wiping panels? Chime in if you have I'm just curious.

I've got about 5 hours in one bedside. All I did was strip it with a flipper disk ( still needs work). I welded up the rear seam and ground it down, welded my stake pockets stut, welded up holes from molding and welded some patched where the bumper was hitting. Used my stinger to pull some dents and hammered on edges around the bottom to straighten thing out alittle. I have'nt even got to putting any filler on. Now that you got me thinking about it I'll see how much time I can put into it today.:ben::exit:
