Ok Todd, that makes sense. I would like to see closer pictures of how the center outer strip overlaps the front headliner panel. To me, that doesn't SOUND right - like a former owner didn't have the right piece and did it that way. But if it appears original to you, then maybe it just is the way they did it waay back in the day.

I get you on the rear window now, thanks.

I tried to get better pictures of the center bow and brace. Picture 1 & 2 are front view. Picture 3 is a rear view

Still a bit hard to understand but I THINK I see what's happening.

The part I'm struggling with is that one panel goes between the structural bow (you don't see) & the outer bow you DO see. But the other panel goes in the gap that's IN the bow.

This SEEMS like there would be a noticeable difference in the flush fit of the two panels, but chances are I am agonizing over nits and it'll look fine once I sand/paint the bows gloss black (or whatever color) with new black headliner panels.

I don't have a close up picture...and I wouldn't post my VIN information anyway, sorry. But you can see what the plate looks like on this link (a lot clearer than mine would be anyway). It's about 3/4 of the way down. It is installed on the passenger side of the cowl, under the hood and down fairly low on the side...at least that's where it is on my '46. Hope this helps.

Best, Dan
