I like your red highlights! I have valve covers almost identical to yours so I'm think I might do that too. Did you just do it with a small brush?

No, actually we took the time to tape everything off in between and sprayed them, but it would probably be just as easy to use a brush. On the intake letters I sprayed some paint into a freeze plug and used a tooth pick snapped in half haha. Worked pretty well!

Hello again, Newtz. It looks like we are building pretty much the same motor, except you are way ahead of me! Just wandering if you will have access to a dyno when you're done? I like what you have done so far, looking good!:metal:

Thank you. I may be ahead on the motor, but I'm not taking the time right now like you are to do the frame up. Looks like your doing a hell of a job on it! I have not checked around for a dyno yet. I would really like to find one close to me though. If anyone knows where one is in the central valley, please let me know.

Didn't work today, so we got the valves adjusted, intake torqued down, oil pump on, and the oil pan bolted on. I think we're ready for paint now! Thanks to evanz67 for your help!

Anytime! $6,000 and you can have it! You pick it up. I do love building motors. I could easily do it all day every day. I really do think I missed my calling by becoming an electrician. Dammit! Oh well, thank God for hobbies!

After a much needed pressure wash. I apologize for the wheels and tires, those things have got to go! Think I'll go back to the rallyes.

Good lookin truck!

Where those big block headers in there? If so, which ones and what did you have to do to get them in?

Thank you! No those are the headers from my small block I had in before. Check out this thread, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=394656 , for header info. These are the headers I'm going with for the big block.

Unfortunately the dash was hacked up already when my dad bought it. Has anyone ever seen a steering wheel weep like this? It's done it for as long as I can remember. It's so bad that it drips down on the floor mat, and is extremely sticky. So it's gonna get replaced finally.

That hole is small compared to the one in my dash. It about 15inches long and 6 inches tall. Ya Newtz love the beater trucks in the background

Nice truck

If you havnt made your mind up 100% on headers i got another option for you. I bought mine for my bbc off a board member here, they are 2 inch primarys with 3.5 collectors. Very well built and not one bit hangs below the frame at all. If your interested let me know ill give ya some details and pics.
