Re: Project 4.3 SS

I'm using the same LED parking lights...are they flashing fast, or not working at all? I had to use resistors with mine; they use so little power that the system thinks you have a bulb burnt out, and triggers the fast flashing.

Re: Project 4.3 SS

flashing fast,i have resistors i got at autozone..and also i have a bad turn signal switch, and 4 bad front bulb sockets..I am off to the junkyard after another front light harness off a silverado anyway..the w/t is not wired for the side markers..Thank you GM

Nice job, I'm liking the grill setup.

Re: Project 4.3 SS

I got around $200 in the new aftermarket haeadlights, grille ,side markers and led park lamps..all off ebay..Not a bad deal..the grille was 75 and free shipping. Grille is the "new style" with black insert..It will go great when rest of truck is purple.

Re: Project 4.3 SS

I've been satisfied with my LED parking lights (got mine from LMC, but they look just like yours), but I wish I'd spent more money on better headlights. I got Ebay cheapies, from China, and they don't fit well, they don't adjust at all, and after a year and a half they're already yellow. Oh, well, live and learn.

I'm digging the grille too...it's making me want to yank the billet setup off my truck.

Total so far, just for the front end of my 2dr Tahoe is:

Grill - 200.00
Smoothie bumper - 140.00
Street Scene grill inserts - 160.00
SS Style Emblem - 30.00
Powdercoat bumper - 150.00
Paint grill shell - 125.00

Total - $805.00

Damn, this is an expensive hobby ;)

Re: Project 4.3 SS

so far i am into this 94 shorty for right at $1,600 and that includes a gallon of basecoat and a gallon of clear..I did all the work myself..And i certainly could not go to the car lot and get one for that..with 129,000 miles on it..has new tires..i got when i bought it,I have the tires off the red truck too. And i am parting it out,to get some $$ back..sold the red front clip for 250..so i am doing good on it..selling the 4L60E reman trans off the red one..and the 4.3 motor..and the rear end will sell too..I am keeping the spare 2 SS rims ,they are hard to find..I will get 2 more later..and mabye sell a set of 4..and i have the old black bed, needs passenger side outer skin..I will find one,fix and sell the shortbed too..

I save and recycle everything..

My SS red grille bowtie...ebay for $1.08....LOL

Thank you "GM ENGINEERS" :cuss:for the wonderful e z to install on the production line quick connect fitting that everyone leaks and does this when you go and change it...:banghead: Just to have and spend 2 hours using a chisel and a hammer way down in the truck to fit it,and i did fix it, I used a water pump fitting out of a big block, and put a real hose on it with 2 clamps..so it will never be a problem again!!!

Nice work, lookin great! Good choice on the purple haze too, it was also used on the '92 Camaros. It looked really good with the silver "heritage" racing stripes.

Are you sticking with the manual mirrors?

Yes..you have to careful not to ruin the threads in there..I have a tap that size too.

Your blazer in your avatar is what my 70 2wd looked like in 1989...even has the quarter panel off of it too. I have a pic,i will dig it out...Preovous owner liked hitting guardrails..both bed sides were bondo..shaped like a guardrail..Thats why i changed bedside out, they were off a 1970 2wd jimmy..Now i wish i didn't part that one out...Very rare to have a 70 2wd jimmy. But its gone.

Re: Project 4.3 SS

this guy parted this one out about 17 years ago after wrecking it and he was holding on to tub and few parts but when he sold the barn it was sitting in he had no where to put so he sold it. its really rust free but the quarters a pretty trashed.
