I was in Marfa, Texas earlier this year on business and ran into the owner of the truck that Tommy Lee Jones drove in "No Country for Old Men". Nice original unrestored 69 C10 big block that is used as a daily driver. It was purchased from original owner and has never left Presidio County. The movie production company rented the truck from the owner. It was returned with a few small dents that they compensated for. Here is a few pics, one I took and one from movie.

Re: movie trucks
I just watched a movie called Legion with Dennis Quaid. In the final scene of the show some characters (I wont spoil it in case you havent seen the movie) drive off in a burb, I think it was a 72. When I realized it was a burb I was too lazy to rewind and check the door panels for a positive identification. =)

I nearly bought the "We are Marshall" GMC. It is still owned by the original owner and is an AWESOME low-mile truck!!!

My 1st real job was working at El Dorado RV in Surrey B.C. which had produced thousands of campers and canopies. The factory was shut down but all the machinery was still in place. On my breaks I would sometimes grab some old sheet metal and run it through whatever machine I could get to run ( diamond creased, seamers ) Lucky I didn't loose a hand!

Re: movie trucks
They used my '71 GMC Jimmy in the David Duchovney art film "Goats", [2012]. The art department removed my "Semper Fi" front license plate -- the shot was supposed to be in Mexico. I thought I'd get to see the whole truck, but that wound up on the cutting room floor. They only use an ECU of the drivers side dual headlights in screen left and then pan right onto the actors arriving in another car.
That's showbiz. |

Dont forget No Country for Old men I would post it but I dont know how to grab it from movie form. Nice shot of a 69/70 long bed 8 lug with white top pulling horse trailer.

Re: movie trucks
Disregrad my last thread I just saw the top picture. cool. I always liked that No Country truck. It really looked so fitting. For some reason I like the rear tire in the bed. Just something you would not expect from a movie prop. Now I know why.

Re: movie trucks
Just watched "Super-8" with my 10 y/o. A few different Chevys in there and an average movie.

There's one in 'Argo'--it's in the first scene that Dan Goodman is in, a gold long stepper drives by.
