Not yet. I got laid off last summer 3 weeks after we bought a new house, and apparently a 30 year old business professional with a bachelors degree in business management and 12 years of experience working within a business environment, with a clean criminal record and good credit and strong references, isn't hireable. So, I have started my own real estate inspection business, and have been busy working on getting that to take off and taking care of my 2 daughters (yes, 2 now, was zero when I started this thread :hh:).

One exciting development is that a brand new, two bay, fully insulated and heated, 100% devoted to working on cars workshop is currently under construction and should be ready to go at some point this summer (dad's contracting the main construction portion, then contracting the insulation, and then he is going to wire it and put whatever material he decides to use on the interior walls). All of the storage is going to remain in the original portion of the barn, and the new portion is going to be nothing but space for working on cars and tools for getting work done. My father is about 4 years away from retirement, so this is going to be his post retirement shop to make some money on the side and to hopefully build a few hot rods.

I have attached a picture I took last week.

Construction on the new shop is about six months behind, they were supposed to start in January but we had a BRUTAL winter here in Ohio. And where the barn is located on my parents land, the soil holds water like nothing I've ever seen before, so an extremely wet spring put construction back even further :cuss:, but now that it's to this point construction should happen very quickly.

Project isn't dead in the water, life has just got in the way. Since I started this thread, we had our first child, I finished my bachelor's degree, we bought a new house, I got laid off, we had our second child, and I started a new business.

My father's new workshop will hopefully be in use by the fall. The construction is 100% complete, he's finishing up repairs on a brand new 2014 CRV he bought that was wrecked when the dealership was unloading it off the truck (bought it for $13 or 14k off sticker), and saving up cash so he can get the new shop insulated

you'll get there man, some guys take over a decade to finish a particular project. I seen a thing somewhere online of a fellow building a rod and man oh man did life get in the way. First his wife got cancer, they beat that, then he got cancer. So there are pain and misfortunes in life but they usually make you a stronger person. Things will pan out and get back on track, though having a family and business isn't necessarily getting off track. Congrats on everything.

I am in the process of completing a LS swap in a 46 1/2 ton and I am looking for a water inlet thermostat housing that is pointed at 6 o'clock, what did you use on your build?

Thanks for putting up the link to the photo's. Just a thought but this is a great build, if it's possible you should go back the first post and let people know where to find the pics and maybe itemize and add more to your blog. I know it's a lot of work but the 41-46 is hard to find build blogs on and I think it would help a lot of people. I have 46 that is also on an s-10 frame, wish I had taken more pics of , I'd do a build post of my own. I don't know if you solved the steering column issue or not but I am using an aftermarket tilt column. A chain link fence bracket with a rubber pad between the inside of the bracket and the column to keep it from moving. The other end of the bracket is mounted to some square stock that I fabbed a bracket for. you can raise it or lower it to fit you. I'm 6'3" so I actually cut a semi-circle out of my dash to get it as high as poss. Also found that black leather power buckets from an older maxima fit perfect with the gas tank in its original position. I'll try to read some more of your build and see where you're at and if there's anything else I can give my 2 cents on. Great job! Keep up the good work
