David, is the second pic right before filler? If so I still see holes in it. Moisture will find it's way into the repair. ;)

Thanks Alan. I couldn't upload the finished picture before the primer but he took care of it.

Thanks Cort, I sure miss that GMC

She want's to stay with the 5x7 style.

when you go to mount the 5 x 7 mirrors, check them before final install, if you do not keep an eye on the angle of the tall arm the wing vent will not open with the mirrors laid flat 7" on the horizontal. (do not ask how i found this out)

The truck is looking great. Are you going to reuse the trim from the doors?

One day I hope my girls feel the same way as your daughter when they get to that point of time for a truck..hope fully 60s truck. Here is a pic of my 2 favorite truck helpers..

I suggest getting a paint pen to fill in the letters on the now black grill... or ya could just tape 'em off.

Looking good... young folks that like to wrench on things learn a lot about what they can and can not do. They also learn to 'think', which will always come in handy.

She's got her eye on the white grill decal set. Darrah's got a good head on her shoulders that's for sure. Thanks for the kind words.

Darrah was so excited today when she got home from school. She called me and said "My Fender Is Here" Thanks Kevin.

Fender and handles came from KEVINC from Texas. Check out what he has to sell in the for sale forum.

She sure looks happy! Thanks for the shout out. I have plenty of parts left over. Glad I could help her project come along a little further.:chevy:

awesome to see dads doin these projects with their kids.
i think this is a part of what's wrong with kids is the lack of "connection" with parents.
good on ya and you got a great daughter there ;)

It is great to see your daughter's happy face with that fender! So many young people these days only want some new foreign made junk..... It is very refreshing when young kids love the old classics... Thanks for sharing the pics.

Got up this morning and Darrah wanted to drive again. Took her on the highway for the first time. Enjoy the video.
