Well if all go's right the motor will be in this weekend , Lot's of work finding all the parts to move the ac and alternator up and make some parts, also nice to know that with the after market motor mount that with the 47rh trans will sit right on the trans cross member with out having to move it at all just used a stock 4 speed auto trans mount, This is such a easy swap todo.

Did you have to make any firewall mods

Arts712828 03-28-2016 07:36 AM

Re: 1988 Gmc crew cab build

did not have to mod the fire wall , with the motor mounts I got it sits on the stock chevy fraim horns and didn't have to move the trans cross member , just had to use a trans mount for a 4 speed auto to get the mount to bolt to the 47rh trans

I'm surprised that nobody has chimed in yet. Mine doesn't have cruise control so I'm not sure. Sorry.

I hear ya. I thought about doing a 12 valve or 6.0 swap. But then I decided I have a good 454 already in the truck.

Just read throught your forum. This is going to be a killer truck. Seriously dig the interior! How far are you going to lower it? Whay other plans do you have for it?

You can tow and put that camper on it even better with a bagged truck. More overall control and easier to load and unload.

Looking good. I would recommend dropping your tanks, removing the electric fuel pumps and extending the draw straw if you haven't done it. Keep us posted with updates. :metal:

Re: 1988 Gmc crew cab build

well after the trip today I have some thing to work on , regear the rear diff 4.10's way to low truck only will do 55 , new cooling fan thats not bent , fan grazed the radiator and now it leaks , and service the trans I think the filter is some what pluged up , shift good at slow speed but on the freeway slips in 3rd at high rpm , and there is some random knocking noise from under the truck
