Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
What front cross member would you recommend?
I would like a true "Bolt In" without drilling, but can drill if needed. Smitty |

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
Subscribed, This is an awesome build! Curious why the 4l60e and not a 4l80e? or was the motor and trans a package deal? (like a vortec max or denali)

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
Looks great! And very familiar? What kind of clearance do you have between the front pumpkin and the Dirty Dingo cross member? I only have a couple of inches and I'm concerned about clearance. I only have an add-a-leaf in the front and 2" blocks out back, but I don't really want to go much higher. Might eventually do a real 2-3" spring lift and I've been thinking about cutting and welding in a plate to the bottom of the cross member to get another 1" of clearance.

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
ITS NOT A LOT OF ROOM! I AM THINKING THE SAME ABOUT THE 2" LIFT!! Going to wait till i get the body back on to decide!

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
I’m doing a similar swap but with a 4l80. Do you know the thickness of your adapter to the np205 and did you move the engine forward and keep the stock position for the tcase? How much space do you have between the core support and the accessories on the engine?

Yes I used the stock transfer case location and I believe it moved the engine forward some not sure on how much! Added some pic's. Have about 9" between the pulley and the core support.

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
Nice build! I may have missed it, are you using the AA kit between the trans and tcase, what do you think of it? Looks like it adds about an inch to the length of the drivetrain?
|
Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
Like it and yes it does look like it adds to length.
|
Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
Awesome build! The orange one is nice! I know Dave and the guys at RMC pretty well. Was super jealous when they first got it. Not many nice ones like that in Nebraska.

Re: 1972 Blazer ls swap
