now, the fully restored a/c evap box ( from Tbe Parts Guy on eBay) could be installed...I used ac duct putty from Home Depot to seal the box against the firewall... you can see how I had to roll it out and set in the grove of the box...

Was there an issue w/the existing Evap case or was that purchase simply just to expidite that task?

It's time to take the 78's 454 to the machine shop fir rebuilding...new small dome pistons and a torque cam should really wake up this truck...CR will be right about 9.5:1 with the 119cc 781 heads...
