PA folks do it right :D

What they said above. He was a dealer in southwestern Pennsylvania who put together some wild combination muscle cars. He did an LS7 454 rebuild for me on an engine i used in my 58 Chevy.

Re: Project: "Yenko C5 Blazer"

Thanks, an interesting read, we've had a few similar guys/companies here over the years, most seemed to end up getting screwed over by the manufacturers when they realised that there was a market for that kind of car and started to make them officially.

Been 4 months since my last update, still chasing down issues like
wiring, cables, leaks, etc ..... Only thing new is that I pre-ordered
one of those Smoothie front bumpers through Tim at Top Banana.

(This summer was so stinking hot that I just didn't get much done)

EDIT: Still no maiden voyage, maybe by end of October? :(

Still on jack stands, don't even know where to begin,
almost traded her off last month but I backed out at
the very last minute, maybe this Spring it will move?

(I tried to save $ in 3 areas, all 3 bit me in the arse)

Most of us have learned the hard way about saving money and cutting corners..... Hang in there, stay focused and do a little every day.

Re: Project: "Yenko C5 Blazer"

A little bit of Progress and a Name Change. I gave up on
the "Yenko C5 Blazer" and renamed it to "SQ VET" which
stands for "Square Corvette". (A lot of stuff on it is Vet
related and I changed my mind on the Exterior color to.)

*If a Mod could change my thread title I'd appreciate it.

Removed the PS Pump today so I can put a new shaft seal in it
before trailering Her down to CTC in October. Brand New pump,
but was shelved for almost 2 years, = leaks like me after having
several Margaritas. :D Mailed my registration off today so the 72
& the 00 will both be headed south just 2 months from today!

Where did ya find a place to buy parts for rebuilding the pump...thought that source dried up long ago

Re: Project: "Square Corvette"

Napa, turns out the shaft was installed crooked. (Defect from factory)

I'm getting a New pump Mon. (This is a 95ish Serp Set-up, not OEM)

I guy in Cali made it, I was excited to get it even though
I think it was overpriced. I'm probably going to chalk it up
as a loss because it fits like crap at the ends and I'm not
sure that a fiberglass guy can fix it like it is. Live & Learn

Re: Project: "Square Corvette"

well that sux! Life's lessons tend to hurt the wallet.
off the subject a little a bought a 2wd blazer but needs the front floor replaced are truck replacements the same as the blazers?? any differances?? thanks

LUV2XCLR8 09-30-2011 03:22 AM

Re: Project: "Square Corvette"

Not sure on the pans, but I think so. I didn't have to replace mine
since they are OE. I know "Ron 586" is putting a whole floor pan in
his 2wd using that replacement Goodmark truck floor 1 piece unit.

PS - Drove it to dragstrip last Friday night, gotta do something on
those Cool headlights to mod them a lil, they suck ass at night, lol.

Your Blazer is why mine is at the shop. They had a car show there and throw it together just for the show. It is the "Grey Ghost" for now. Primer is to a color!!!!!

Re: Project: "Square Corvette"

any updates??

LUV2XCLR8 03-26-2012 03:44 PM

Re: Project: "Square Corvette"

No updates. Life has happened and it's just sitting in the
shop covered on skates. In a 3 month period I had three
vehicle breakdowns, (Only afford to fix 2 out of 3 = $700)
garage spring & garage opener, ($400) pet wireless died,
($300) hot tub breaker blew, ($50) $15K in Hail damage,
& Wife's needed tires. ($1250) so savings is emptied now.

Hoping to have it down at CTC in October, but not 4 sure
cause "Gas Hog" is still broke down and it's my Tow Rig. It
needs around $1500 in repairs. (Cam, so lifters and P rods)
