Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Too bad about the car but luckily no one was hurt. Both those trucks are great and so different from each other. - Hey, never seen a 5 window made like that in that year before.

A RECAPE of how the truck use to look in 1979, 2008 and 2017 to the coming current photos and a recap of where I left off on my BEFORE AND AFTER pics in 2017 of bed work/primer/paint and minor work to frame. Because the new rear springs from "No Limit Engineering" brought my truck so far down I have to notch and weld my shock cross member. I just want that little additional clearance for peace of mind. BUT Life and family issues are priority so my truck took a back seat to them and other projects I needed to address. One of them was, MY WIFE wanted more work to be done to the house and she wanted a new drive way gate. Those custom wrought iron gates cost BIG $$$ I don't have so I made one. I'll post some pics of the gate I made later. Also I will probably die before it's completed but I am also working on my '67 El Camino which will be getting a roots blown 496 BB Chevy.
....well we will see "Man makes plans & God Laughs" I am a gear head nut I stay busy it's a sickness. I enjoy coming on here checking out all the kool projects stealing ideas and stuff, going to the drags / car shows/ monster truck /tractor pulling/ photography & doin' the steam locomotive excursion thing. |

Progress on the truck went into slow motion due to family stuff & other projects. The wife wanted a fancy wrought iron drive way gate. Didn't have that kind of $$$ But I did have plenty of scrap metal.

Progress on the truck went into slow motion due to family stuff & other projects. Then I came back on 67-72 Chevy trucks and was happy to see I wasn't the Loan Ranger :waah::lol: there was more then a few projects in slow motion too.

I’m not sure if it was growing up with the general lee jumping bridges or if it was the love of the orange 69 gto judge but when it came time to choose color I HAD to have orange on my gmc so I may be a bit biased but I like it! Besides, super easy to find your ride in a parking lot full of soulless white and gray SUVs.

The bed and seat belt latches gave me some issues putting everything back together, paint got scratched I got pissed off at myself, tail gate needed more work and other issues. Then a few weeks after that was sorted all out Kabwe of Bam's build, Donnie with the '57 Chevy pickup project I post on here with a couple of other friends came over after leaving a local Cars & Coffee Cruise In to help me put the bed back on the truck.

The two nice rides belong to Grant ('55 Chevy truck) and Craig ('55 Bel Air) The last picture looks pretty lame, I know it was a reenactment of the bed going on coz I forgot to take the picture, I was busy making sure the plastic and cardboard were in place so the paint wouldn't get scratched up |
Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
that whole bed build is freakin rad, i love it.
