So far my truck has met every challange I've thrown at it. Street the first few years, then raced last year and now turning back to the street cruiser... Going to start looking into an LS swap for more drivability for the wife to take over the rains on this one!!

Sigh. If you could only find a nice red to paint it.

Otherwise, that's a dang fine looking truck.

Dave.

Well had a few set backs! Cam went flat (lost number 5 intake lobe and lifter) so tore it all down cleaned things up, installed a new cam and lifters with a split duration/lift cam to take advantage of the vortec head design so hopefully that will help be alittle more street freindly! So now full of Brad Penn oil and ready to get some miles on it!

Re: MY build thread...

Well after lots of thought I think I’m going to swap in a small port bbc into the truck and make it more of a street cruiser with better manners on the street so the wife can drive it. The small block is alittle rowdy and temperamental! So my question is has anyone ran chevelle/camaro long tubes on their bbc swap with pics? I’m also thinking of staying around 10-1 with iron heads on the big block and a decent small roller for reliability. Any thoughts, opinions gear ratio etc. I’ll be running a built 700r 4.

Here's a thread on the headers.

Depending on your rear tire size, with the OD trans I would run a 3.42 or 3.73 gear.

Disc swap done finally better brakes!!! BBC got file 13.. Onto bigger wheels and tires next... I’m thinking 315 will look nice on the back!

Lookin' good man!
You should be able to hang those tires on that thing with the right wheel offset.
I have 315/35's inside of my bedwall with widened tubs & custom offset...Just in case I ever wanted to go lower, I wouldn't need to buy different wheels.

Thanks. They would fit but I wanted more dish so most likely will narrow the rear a few inches to get there.

Are you still using the same rear sway bar? How's it working out?
