Yep some times the hardest part is to remember to keep it simple!

I plan well? I think your woirk on the burb/Tahoe is way past what I have planned for this build! But wait for my 2WD Blazer to get started;)

Looks good but I think the Chop went about 1/2" or so too much for me.

It is not fully complete yet but paint is done and this is the most curent pic I have before the owner loaded it up and moved to a new house.

Here is the weekends work! Not bad for part of a day and it all lines up very nice. Next weekend I will finish the rear cab body line change and get the top tacked in place so I can cut off the quarter panels and send it out for blasting.

Well, This has been a weekend that will go down in the books for me. When I got home after are phone call I could hardly wait to see the progress. I'm still amased at what you have acomplished. It's great.

Like a glove :lol: Nice! That's a nice touch on the back of the cab. Makes it look much more finished. That blue Trazer I posted looked horrible in that area. Bed wood just butted up against the back of the cab...

Man great job! Takes alot to do such a mod to a 2wd Blazer! But it looks like it will be nice and clean, like evrything else you touch!

The owner came by today with some needed parts and for a look. I think he is pleased with the progress so far and is looking forward to more progress. What he brought by today was the core support and hardware, tailgate and the rebuild kit for the door hinges. Now I can rebuild the hinges to assure that everything will end up how I want after teh cab is welded in place. I will also double check the front fenders, core suport for door gaps and alignments. Then I will tear it down, cut out the rusted areas and send it off to blasting. I hope to have it blasted and back in the shop in about a month for all the new sheet metal to start finding its home for good.

Yes finaly I got my lazy Arse out in the shop!:rolleyes:
I rebuilt the hindges last week end and re-set the doors for fitment. Then this week end I squared up the cab, trimmed abit and started welding it in place. I started with the A posts and worked my way around to the back of the cab. On the A posts I will be sectioning in a splice to offset the joints that I will have to show you rather than trying to explane it. I also sectioned the rear of the cab in order to get the body lines how I wanted them. All this is so I can pull the body off the frame in the next week or two. It will get mounted to a tip and flip proto-type dolly so it can be flipped over and I will remove the wheel tubs, bed sides and any rusted metal before it heads off to the blaster for a 360* cleanning. I also removed 36 pop rivits from around the inside rear window and welded up the holes. I still need to grind the rivit holes as well as the weld line on the back of the cab just above the floor. Then a bit of hammer and dolly work and the bed will be ready for a line-X type of coating.

I thru on some cheap spray paint I had around to help the body lines show up a bit better. What do you think was it worth the extra time? If I did not section the cab back the vertical body lines would have just ran right into the floor.

Yeah it was worth the extra time! Looks damn good from here. Did you just cut a line through the ribs inthe floor so the back wall sat in it or did you actually cut every rib into the wall?

I used a small hand file to notch each rib into the back wall. But the cutting a slice sure sounds easy;)

No a single slice with a .035 cut off wheel turned out to be a perfect fit. I had to tap the lower section in with a small hammer it fit so well.

Had you actually cut each rib into the back wall,,,,,that would have been worth an extra grand! looks like you got a nice tight fit with it. great job!

Time to slice and dice! I had some time today during baby sitting my son so only about 2hrs all day:lol:
I got the body off the frame and bolted to the dolly and ready to be cut all apart for rust repair and blasting. I hope to be finished working out of town next week so I will be able to get it up to the strippers so I can get started on the rest of the repair.

And no the dolly plans will not be ready for awhile yet, I have some tweaking to do before I am ready to draw up the plans.

Sorry for the bad pics but with my son in one hand and a camera in the other this is as good as they get:lol:
