Re: New Blazer pic's..

Thanks man..

I am running the stock tank, I think it is 25 gal's. I had to cut allot of the frame off to make the roll pan work. I am not sure if you could make a hitch fit with a stock tank and roll pan. You my need to look into a custom tank that is a little smaller.

Good luck!!

Looks great man, your making some really fast progress! A couple questions if you dont mind. I dont really know a lot about bags yet but I assume you didnt have to do anything to the crossmember? and in the side shots you have posted the rear is completly aired out? maybe I missed it but how tall are the rear tires or size? thanks

Adam

Ok I found my answers to the rear and tire height.

Re: New Blazer pic's..

Thanks man!! Looks like you have some sweet rides too.
The crossmember I had to make, I made it out of 2x2 box tub. But you my not need to do that. I did it for the 3" pipes out of the headers. And look at the last pic on page 3 that one is with all the air out on all 4 bags.

Later,

I have decided to turn my 82 in to a 73-80 style. I have some ideas that I want to put in effect and the styling of the earlier front end plays a part in that.

Now if I can just locate a clean 73-80 front clip.....;)

Love your Blazer, reminds me of the Solid jet black 82 2 wheeler I had with a 5, 7 drop. I will try to scan some pics for you. Before digital camera days!

I really like the looks of the aircleaner/breather. Did you make it or is it purchased. I've never seen one like that before. Great looking ride BTW. One of the sharpest black ones I have ever seen.

Thank you Kevin45 & Thealien

Kevin45, I did make it, I made it out of an old air cleaner top and bass and cut a 3" pipe in half then welded it all around the back side. Then put two 3" tubs out the front of it. The next step is putting my 3" tubes back on it, like in this pic. But they will come strate out the front not out to the side like in this pic.

Thanks for your input.

I think I understand what you are saying other than the cutting the 3" pipe in half and weding it around the backside. Was the 3" tube already bent into a "U" shape and you used the top and bottom of the air cleaner, or did you algle cut the tube to fit the complete air cleaner. I guess I don't understand. LOL!!! Do you have any pics of the making of it? And if you do, would you mind sharing?
On another note, I used your angle shot of the Blazer as my wallpaper and the wife saw it amnd fell in love with it. Now she wants me to keep my eye out for one. When her and I first got together she had an '85 4wd but she wouldn't mind me making one into a 2wd for her. So maybe I'll have me a new project before long:metal:

Re: New Blazer pic's..

Kevin,

Sorry about that, I was doing about three things at once when I typed that up. You are right, it was a 3" U shape pipe. I will see if I can find some pic's for you. Give me a day or two to find them.

That is very cool that you are using a pic of my blazer as wallpaper. Thanks for the kind words. Good luck on finding a blazer.

Later,
Trav

Re: New Blazer pic's..

Your blazer just made 2 decisions for me, Paint and tires/wheels. I wanted to paint it black and put all the factory trim on it.(like my dad's old truck from back in the day) Your blazer just solidified the paint choice. I was looking at those exact same tires/wheels in 15" though, but the 17" looks like they fit the truck better. Sweet A$$ Blazer!!!

Trav- Great looking Blazer- I now officially have the "itch" to build one... I was going to do a later model Suburban, but I think I am leaning towards a Blazer now....

One more thing- from one fellow MX'er to another I couldn't help but notice the supermoto bike in the pics on pg 1........ Care to share the details? It wouldn't by chance be a KTM would it?

Just curious- I have always wanted to try Supermoto but I am getting too old......

awwww, cmon -- Supermoto is a great sport when you feel too old to moto---- I have a side project to convert a '02 KX500 into a sport class Supermoto bike. It has the lazy handling and stability that is useful for that discipline

I meant to ask this about the black blazer before, TVB, but is your interior totally custom or did you use a seatcover kit and a few other custom pieces?
