Oops...I meant 25. The 25 and 31 gallon tanks have the same footprint, but the 31 is taller. The 40 gallon is longer and I think is the same height as the 31.

So I got so busy building my truck, I forgot to post ! I found a second 2wd truck in southern California that was one owner, 42k miles and zero rust. I decided to use it on my frame. With regular cab mounts, it clears drivetrain with 2wd tunnel fine.

Cab mounts and AC lines I made. It was easier to buy my own crimper and line.

Here's trans lines to 4l80e, I used AN fittings then put heat shield over them. Also got headers lined out and jet coated. I cut flanges and welded v band flanges on them.

That looks sweet! So clean and shiny. I love it. Is you RH spring plate a stock cast piece? I can't remember if mine has that threaded hole where you have the steering stabilizer shock mounted. I hope mine has that. I like how yours is.

It's a stock plate, I drilled and tapped it for 1/2" bolt. I couldn't figure out where else to put it lol.

I did the green EBC brakes to try and add some extra braking. It's rear disc with a small residual valve in rear and 82 Corvette master with modified hydraboost. I reworked prop valve and just bent all new stainless lines everywhere.

Engine bay, still gotta clean it up and paint a few things. I've had three different exhaust on truck and I still don't like sound. Thinking about going back to manifolds

Truck is looking great! What exhausts have you tried? Just a thought but adding a crossover pipe might be easier than swapping to manifolds.

magnaflows, flowmasters, stock with resonators, all with 2.5" pipe. I don't like all the noise up front from the headers.

Re: 1988 Crew Cab shortbed overhaul

Clean build Rusty. Do you think more sound proofing on the firewall would solve the noise problem?

Marcus nailed it. A cross over can really change the tone of the exhaust for sure.

Ill try the crossover pipe for sure. I have the truck down right now redoing the interior with second row honda odyssey seats in grey leather. Im also dynamiting the floor and roof.

Might make the wind noise overpower the exhaust noise...:lol::lol:

I didn't believe an H pipe made a difference in tone until I put one on a ls swapped nova we did. I had to eat crow on that. Haha
