Good lookin truck tho.

It's nice to see somebody who doesn't take comments seroiusly that aren't meant to be taken so! If only everybody else could relax and laugh a little more!

i have talked to bill a few times and hes a super nice guy. if you have any questions all u have to do is ask him. as for the money, hes just puttin out there how expensive this hobby can be. so to everyone who is on a budget and want to make a bad azz truck, hes a guy to talk to. he did not have a plan and has spent a lot of extra money on this truck. hes helping me out on my project so keep up all the good comments and good work.

why cant u do a 1 1/4 notch on the frame rather then the front x member. it seems like it would work :hmm: :dohh: just move the upper a arm up and some new holes drilled. i am just looking for other options i dont know if i have the right tools to do the x member in a timely manner.

thanks

Upper and lower need to move as a set or you completely whack the suspension geometry. Moving both control arms up is exactly what the xmember notch does. However, if you don't section the middle of the xmember when you do this, you will either push your engine up (which mucks with clearance and drivetrain alignment) or you have to mod the motor mount towers (which then gets you oil pan clearance issues). Doing the xmember section keeps suspension geometry intact and avoids all the engine issues.

thats what i think i was trying to say if u notch the frame 1 1/4 to fit over the x member then the upper a arm would have to come up 1 1/4 to keep that geomatry thingu were talking about

sorry u dont have to move the upper just have to weld a piece of l angle to bolt it back up

If you did it that way you would also have to move the stering up with it... steering box and idler arm. Otherwise you would experience some adverse steering effects... they call it bumpster.

Re: Dragndoorhandle

the bushings u used on the 3link, on the outside arms do those need to be a big bushing with a big bolt(a big OD for a big sleve ID for a big bolt).how much weight do u think is resting on there. I cant find any bushings bigger then 1 1/4 OD with a 5/8 bolt.

thanks for your time

Re: Dragndoorhandle

Dude, all I know is I used the round bars from a super lift kit from suicidedoors and cut them to make the wish bone. I got the frame back from powder coating( Thanks to Todd Wilt) and have the truck ready for the body. The motor will be done next week. And the new performance online motor mounts should be here. Im going to get this thing ready for INDY. If anyone is going to be there let me know.

I think they've got a web site that lets you look up any location. You might try Google.

I won't be at Indy either. With all the banter in this thread, it must be a rockin' good show. :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal:
