wow!!! . very cool

Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck
I've always wondered if I should move the front wheels forward and inch or two. The front wheels always seem like they're set to far back toward the rear and the space in front of them bugs me. I'll either move it or fill the whole space with rim and rubber. Probably the latter.
Great lookin' truck. |

if you move dropmember forward and not motor motor will have to raise atleast 1 1/2inches more than the 2inches it already does. If you slide motor with dropmember motor gets close to rad electric fan a must. Thought about all this briefly then nate told me dropmember centers wheel in wheelwell when air out I decided not to mess with it. Hope this makes sence not good at typing better at talking:metal: |
Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck
The DM does move the spindle C/L farther forward vs. the factory (1.5" IIRC). Did you want to move it another 1.5" forward?

Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck
Great thread. Everytime I see the dropmember in action I fall a little deeper in love.

Wow.... That's a bunch. I wonder how it would look? I guess in pics your front wheels look just about right to me. Do they still appear to be too far back in person?

I noticed this effect on my pick-up, too. I thought maybe I had bolted the suspension together wrong way back when I did the work:lol:.

Re: 1966 Chevy SWB Gasser influenced truck
The Frame on my 62 has been Modified and Altered. I have a Mustang II IFS Clip on the front and the Wheelbase has been extended to 117". The front wheels were too sunk in so I bought some wheel spacers and put them on. Brought the wheels out a little more close to the fender.
