I think you should leave that GMC just like it is! It looks awesome lowered with the white steel wheels

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

The car that you took out this it's sick!!!!

So after long debate, talking with friends, I believe I came to a final decision. I will now be bagging my truck just to sit as low as possible, and if I really want it low I'll get the work done to lay the frame, but for the time being it will be sitting as low as possible. The work should hopefully be done by the end of year but don't worry once its done pictures will be posted.

Is there any other update on the truck? You get it tagged yet?

Sorry, not meaning to brag. The toy i'm referring is the 73 firebird I received when my father passed away, have finished the little things to it and enjoy driving it with my memories of my father.

Been busy for a few weeks. But am putting new wheels on the beast. Total cost $0.00 Had them in the garage chilling. Still will probably do steel wheels in the end but will run these for a bit. Whatcha think guys!

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

I wish i could say yes, but funds are slim and the biggest challenge is trying to find a way to make a flatbed work on my lowered stance. Has to clear the rear wheels. Any ideas need some pictures

If I were you I'd put the cragers on and leave it ;)

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

I will for a bit, But bed is in worse shape then it looks in pictures. I think a narrowed flatbed to fit between the rear wheels might look good. Then I can put huge tires on if I want with no rubbing issues. Possible fenders also.

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

I won't lie I like the 2nd picture with that diamond plate look on the bed hey I hear you there mine is R.I.P. right now due to some motor issues, its a long story. I'm waiting to get mine running and having to do some saving as well to get it ready for a little overhaul in the near future.

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

I like the second one also. Need to figure out how much to build. Might look into salvage yards for a flatbed then modify it to clear the rear wheels.

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

If you were in Nashville there is one here at pull a part.....Custom Diamond plate over a dually rear....Someone put a dually rear on a c20 lol I just ripped the fenders off that bad boy

Re: 1978 GMC Build!

well just an idea I'm not saying it can or cant so correct me if I'm wrong, why couldnt you just take a normal truck bed and just cut it down and then re lay it out I guess is the way to put it, and reinforce it?
