hey guys, its been slow going. but have got some progress done on the truck. here is the new steering shaft I built from scratch from parts I had laying around the shop.

I also now have the griffin 4 core aluminum radiator in it, still need to build a fan shroud tho. and I have the lift springs on it too. todays pic with lift. the lift is all springs, no blocks. I flipped the rear shackles. it still sags about 1" in the back so I have a set of m1028 1.25ton military chevy pu rear springs that will raise it about 1.5" in the rear.

73-87 are a bolt in. at least mine was. the rear axle in it right now is out of a 78 3/4t truck. but I have one from a 1995 1 ton with g80 Detroit in it. that is going in it next with the dana 70 front. the 95 rear axle will require spring perches to move a bit but not bad.

worked a bit on it the last few days. new rancho extended shocks all around. new leaf spring grade 8 bolts all around. got a new aluminum oil pan, new aluminum trans pan, new aluminum timing cover. gonna fix some leaks here in the next few days.

oh and I have the serpentine setup off a 94 im going to adapt to the old 350 as well when I do the timing chain/gears, and timing cover.

I have been daily driving the burb for the last week. my regular daily driver went on to its next owner.

pulled the dana 44 hd front axle today. and installed the dana 60 hd/d70 front.

I have been daily driving the burb for a few months now. running good, very reliable. no so concerned about the appearance of it yet. still changing the mechanicals. soon will be rear disc conversion, and ls swap/4l85e/np205.

ok... progress turned into 20 steps backwards today... got the dana 70 front axle install done only to find out the truck had only been driving as a front wheel drive since I bought it apartently. it has a th350, np203, and had a old dana 44hd that did not have lockouts. so it was a full time 4x4. when I put the 60hd/70 in it I of coarse unlocked the hubs as I could now drive it as a kinda 2wd until I needed the front axle locked in. it just sat there in its tracks and would not move. apparently the 203 is toast. only sends power to the front wheels. so I relocked the hubs back in and it moved again. but it would only go straight. try to turn it and the power steering pump would go nuts. the front 60hd/70 does have a locker in it. so im going to have to put ram assist on it now. and to make matters worse the 60hd/70 needs new kingpins and bushings.... ugh.

Aint that the way it goes sometimes. Glad to hear you are making progress. That will be a serious wheeler when you get your transfer case sorted out.

hey average joe, yep seems like that's how it goes all the time lol. but I have a rebuilt np205 that I built already. but wasn't really wanting to dig that deep in the truck yet as it was pretty much a daily driver... so I thought. now it will be major surgery. cause I also have a rebuilt ls motor, rebuilt 4l85e, and rebuilt np205 to go in it. but if im in it that deep likely will clean and por15 and detail the frame, clean and paint the engine bay. just wasn't ready to go this deep. ugh

got a new steering hydraulic ram. building a new steering gearbox with an fittings for hydro steer.

rebuilt the Saginaw steering box with new Saginaw parts. also drilled and tapped the pressure port side and return port side with 2 6an fittings for the hydraulic steering assist ram.
