I'd love to see only 3100 at 70 mph, I'm at just under 3800 rpm even with my 32" tall tires.

Yeah my tire tall is 27.? so i be somwhere there.
Thats why i went with the 3.08 i trying to get over 20 MPG and I have something in mind for later but i want to keep it a suprise ;)

With the relatively light truck you are working with you should have no problem hitting 20 mpg if you can manage to stay off of the accelerator. That was always my problem after a swap, they were just too darn fun to drive mildly enough to see what kind of gas mileage they could get.

Toss a turbo or two on there and you can pretty much keep the same MPG you were getting cruising down the road but have a great power increase when you want it.

Yeah your right it was hard with my old engine even though i got around 8MPG i don't know what i am going to do with that

Turbo will be nice but :smoke: I am worried about a putting stress on the trans cause they haven't got anything for it yet although the shop told me it good to 600rwhp but that not reliable assumption it all depends on who's driving

I'll trade you my 4L80 for your 6L90 ;) It's much more reliable and easy to get good internal parts for since it uses many of the same parts as a T-400.

Honestly, the 6L90 may just be having the same intro years teething problems all the trans seem to have when they first come out. GM will get it dialed in over the next couple years after getting some warranty failures.

600 hp to the wheels is nothing to be ashamed of. It takes some minor mods to make a T-400 handle that reliably. Getting that bone stock is nice.

You will have a great truck when you get it done.

Got some bad news this weekend :(

My bank account overseas were my incomes goes first then gets transferred here has been frozen :whine: unfortunately all the money i got to live thru is my project money for now.

I will still finish the truck but i keep it within my new budget.
Backed out on couple of stuff :whine:

1. Canceled my new exhaust design i will just keep the old dual flow-master but i taking cats out and will install the cutouts cause i already got them.

2. It was going to be a surprise but if i not getting it then you guys deserve to know Click here Or a paint job.

All the stuff that will still be done before its on the road again by order.

1. Installing Vintage Air A/C cause i already got everything.

2. Taking the engine out and for cleaning & paint.

3. Painting and cleaning the engine bay and firewall going black.

4. Taking the heads out for exhaust valve's change cuz they are weak and fails under stress. Extra insurance ;)

5. Installing the cam and putting engine back together and installing it after all of the above is done.

6. Changing the interior

7. Take it to get tuned and dyno'd :D

8. Post a burnout video ;)

I get you updated as soon i see some progress.

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90

Alright guys i am stuck and i need help.

Need some pics of exhaust setups i can't really figure out how to put a balance-pipe or x-pipe in my system.

I trying to do a two 3 in pipes that comes from the headers then a x-pipe or balance pipe which ever fits then two cutouts with dumps just before 2 magnaflow mufflers and exits just before the rear tires and after step side with splash tip's.

I have to figure it out within two days if someone can post some pic's it make my life easier cause the guy who's doing my exhaust is a friend and he weld's 18-wheeler tanks for living and really busy that way my money be well spent and defiantly help him.

I'm doing a version of this one from the Pypes link on mine.

http://www.pypesexhaust.com/images/rpe631x.gif

I'm going to extend the cut out tubes far enough that I can manually remove the caps at the track and keep the exhaust gasses out from under my car. I may turn them 45 degrees so they exit perpendicular with the rocker panels just in front of the rear tires.
