Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
thanks alot, and no I havent done much with this thing lately, I have an 84 k-5 blazer with an 8 inch lift and 38s, that i am currently building a motor for.
I kinda like to mix my projects up, Ill work on the 70 until I lose interest, then work on my K-5 or my SWB, then come back to the 70, and the process repeats. It stays more interesting that way. |
Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
Heres a few shots that I had taken with the truck for my senior pictures. I know the photo quality sucks, as I took a picture of a picture. When i have access to a disc drive ill show the real ones.

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
Thanks alot for the comments, The AC compressor is locked up, owell... I also took the subwoofer out of the truck when I painted the thing satin black, I plan on building a center console to hold my Jensen flip out touchscreen I acquired the other day... Hmmmm

ive been meaning to build a center console for my truck too i got a 12" sub for free. someone already hacked up my dash but o well. cant wait to see that touchscreen in there man haha. |
Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
As soon as I can think of a way to make it flow well with the dash, and hold my water temp gauge, Ill build it. I would love to put a nice sub in here too, what kind did you get for free? I currently have a memphis M class 12 in a probox superbass box in my 2010.. Itll make the dash flex..

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
Today I fixed my suspension problem. I had a DUHH! moment and realized why my dropped front suspension was bottoming out, it was hitting the bumpstops! so I jacked the truck up, took the front tires off, busted out my favorite tool (cutting torch) and cut off the damned bumpstops. Now my truck rides so much better, almost as though it were stock.
I have a swaybar that i can get for free, will it make much of a difference on my truck? I mean, Is it worth doing? |
Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
All these new cars have fancy backup sensors, in 1970 they didnt give a sh** if you backed over somethin, they were too busy makin badass trucks :metal:

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
less weight = more speed
i cleaned all the junk out of the 70 today, i bet itll go 145 mph now. 130-140 mph was about all it had before. bahaha |
Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics

Re: My 70 barn find build. TONS of pics
