Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
I want everyone to be Kabwe friend! note this from what he's saying!" or having a really good friend who has skills and is willing to help. ;)
I get what you're saying, for me I can't afford to take my truck to a shop to have it done. I had 2 body man come to give me estimates to paint my truck and this is after me doing all the bodywork and they said 7 to 10K, I was even going to supply the paint. I will try to do it myself, if I screw it up then I can say I tried but I know I will spend the time to at least care about what I'm trying to do. Quote:

More cutting, fixen & workin'. Welding my ash tray hole. Yeah I may have gotten carried away with the fiberglass kitty hair but just wanted good coverage to fill in holes and low spots, most of it was sanded away then the body filler. Have some knobs I removed and Cigarette lighter hole all to be welded in. Just trying to make the dash less busy. And more KOOL trucks that have crossed my path.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
naval jelly is the bomb!
A trick I learned long ago was when treating the inside of say a rusty panel, You coat the inside with this jelly and wait till it dries (24 hrs). it coats and dries like a rock. then do your body work to the outside and never worry again of the rust coming through. great KOOL pics... |

KEEP THE EXPLANATION SIMPLE STUPID..... I'll try:lol:. I cut off an inverted hump on the left front fender well and flipped it around and welded it back on so the hump will cover up the wires coming out of the firewall. Why? Because I hate the sight of wires coming out of the firewall. And stripped & welded up holes & smoothed & trimed both fender wells for a better look and fit. Well BC WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST RELOCATE THE WIRES? I did that a long time ago, not going to do it again it's easier to cut and weld.
