Poochie, That is so funny stuff. My wife and I have been calling our youngest daughter that for about 3/4 years now. She's 8 and im not sure how or why we started calling her that. I can honestly say I never thought I would see that on a c-30 This is my new c-30 I should pick it up next weekend, The ignition was cut out of it for some unknown stupid reason, so I havn't heard it run or anything. I feel like im stealing it at $600.00, even if the motor is blown or the cluch is out of it im still getting a good price as far as im concerned. Not sure what the plan is for it just yet, I have to finish my c-10 first. Least I will have it for when im ready to dive in. The current bed will be sold and she will have some pretty polished rims. I might put a aluminum bed on it. I'd love to convert to a 4x4, but like I said it's gonna be about a year till i jump in. Good luck with yours keep us updated. oldno7 |

Re: 71 C30 dually restoration
Went to Harry's U Pull it last week and picked up an Astro van hydra booster, all the power steering lines, and a drive shaft for only $50 bucks. Best part is after extending my wheel base the drive shaft I found is exactly the right length. I also picked up a disc/disc master cylinder from a 75 corvette. Can't wait to start putting my brakes together this week. I'm also working on my watts link to finish up the rear end. Pics to come soon!

Looking good. BTW, if you need a rendering, check the fb page for this site. There is a gentleman named Chad that makes awesome 3d renderings and they are spectacular.

Re: 71 C30 dually restoration
Hey Matt I think he wants to buy your truck lol
And just a hunch tells me he'll pay with an overseas cashier's check and he will send his delivery people to pick it up because he's too busy on the movie set making a movie right now To pick it up himself. Lol Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 71 C30 dually restoration
Ok, got some new updates coming your way. I've been working like a mad man on the truck lately. Oh how I love progress!!
Here's how the watts link came together. I stared at my diff cover for a while until I figured out how I was going to attach my center pivot. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5c945961.jpg Here are my center arm pieces before welding them together to make the center bar. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps639bf027.jpg Posted via Mobile Device http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...psd8705fb8.jpg I'm using a $10 s10 upper ball joint as the center pivot. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7b3b9382.jpg Posted via Mobile Device I didn't have a tapered reamer but this step drill bit worked great for drilling the taper in the center pivot. (Ignore the ugly tack welds, my mig was out of gas) http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2435dab4.jpg Frame mount arm pivot brackets. I made them square and then decided to get fancy with the grinder and round the edges. By the time I'm done with this project I'm gonna be a grinder artist! I'll be at the fair beside the chainsaw guy carving bears. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...psf74d6e81.jpg Posted via Mobile Device Here it is installed! http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps770a57cd.jpg I'm super impressed with how we'll it works. It goes up and down with the full range of my bags and there is zero lateral movement in my axel. The best part is I built the whole thing for less than $100 bucks. http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps569b2ee0.jpg Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 71 C30 dually restoration
Mike excuse my last comment I read this thread wrong and thought it was uncle matts thread.
What your doing to this truck is awesome, In the thread about my 71dually I wasn't sure on my front tire size until I had read your thread and so I used the same size so thanks for that. Posted via Mobile Device |

Here's another update for you. Mounted my hydrobooster and ran into a few problems along the way. This is what I did.
Here is my Booster, notice the position of the hole in the plate where the pushrod comes through. Attachment 1115627 Now notice the hole on my firewall and how they don't line up together. Attachment 1115628 So I decided to take of the plate from the booster and move the hole. Attachment 1115629 Attachment 1115630 New hole lines up good. Attachment 1115631 |
