Great progress. Your dad has to be getting itchy to go for a cruise.

What kind of mileage are you expecting? I know the 2wds can do pretty well, but what about a lifted 67-72?

Nice work on the truck. Looks great! I noticed in post 35 that you don't have a tailgate handle and it appears that you did not use the standard relocation kit, unless I just missed it. Care to divulge any secrets!

Got everything outside of the shop for spring cleaning
http://imageshack.com/a/img849/1823/i7o4.jpg

Re: 69 K-10 Build for Dad

Well THAT was a pain in the azz...and I'm glad it's finally done.

Been poring over what to do about a fuel filler for months. Didn't really want to cut a hole externally in the bedside, but it needed to be fairly easy to get to.

Here's what I ended up with...

Decided to start with the inside fuel filler cover from a Blazer
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640.../841/htdp7.jpg

Then start cutting it up and get to work
http://imageshack.com/a/img823/9649/rrz9l.jpg

http://imageshack.com/a/img843/9459/hjzp0.jpg

Found a nice vented boat filler neck with integrated cap, should work nicely. The only issue is that to get the angle of the neck right, the "GAS" reads upside down. I know that's going to drive my dad nuts....because it drives ME nuts....but it is what it is.
http://imageshack.com/a/img823/6788/b91fp.jpg

http://imageshack.com/a/img829/8674/0fug.jpg

http://imageshack.com/a/img834/5787/tts2g.jpg

http://imageshack.com/a/img823/4472/suuv.jpg

I backpurged and TIG'd a stainless tube to allow for the flow to be as smooth as possible to the tank. It will also be durable, especially if it happens to come in contact with the bed supports that I plasma'd out.
http://imageshack.com/a/img834/9895/kwxlk.jpg

Finished product!
