Re: 70 GMC 4wd version
In need of some help guys. My front turn signals wont work unless i hold thr bulb in (loose socket). So i am looking for the turn signal pigtail that runs from my light in the grill to the core support. I can find it in lmc or anywhere else, its a 1157 bulb.

Your truck is looking great. I like your idea of the work truck paint job. Yours will sure looks better with time than the primer I put on my 95 Ford Crew cab.

Re: 70 GMC 4wd version
Today I got the donor truck stripped down and ready to pull the motor and the transmission tomorrow, Also go the dirty dingo motor mounts installed. They are great quality and I would recommended them to anyone, however I was a little disappointed that I had to modify my relatively new ss brakes lines because the mounts don't have a provision to allow them to pass thru.
heres the donor truck I bought for 900.00 bucks http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psfug9keur.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psttmfpmzw.jpg Dirty dingo mounts http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psxvo6elie.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psmx8juhbk.jpg |
Re: 70 GMC 4wd version
weird looking mount/cross member
Is that a LS 5.3 liter motor? What did you do with the orange paint job, sand it off. or what? ? ? |
Re: 70 GMC 4wd version

The mount/crossmember is a dirty dingo unit, I went with it because I really liked how the bottom part is removable incase a oil pan is ever needed to be removed while the engine is in the vehicle. |
Re: 70 GMC 4wd version
following the ls swap
I have a longhorn chassis that's getting converted to 4x4 this winter and was looking at the dirty dingo crossmember as its getting a 6.0/4l80 I used the mounts the dirty dingo mounts in our suburban that got 6.0/4l80. There mounts fit perfectly. LS swap is best thing I ever did to that truck. |

Also figured out what I am doing for a trans mount (will post pics tomorrow). Got the exhaust manifolds mounted off of a 98 Pontiac firebird formula. Scored them from my neighbor for 25 bucks. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psqatvx1bk.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psm0cszquv.jpg |

Seen a few people on here do some hidden winch setups. I’ve always wanted a winch on this truck. I have this 1/4 plate laying around off of a air compressor I used for a smoker project.
I’ve seen a few hidden winches on here, my plan is to run the plate over the top of the frame rails then weld on two legs that mount to the outside of the frame rail. Mount it to the tow hook holes. |
