I made a bracket for a second dome light . I saw pictures of one and tried to make it from what I remembered seeing. Maybe a bit different but it is fitting fine. I painted it after taking this pictured.

This morning I used a tape to fish the wires to the front dome light , got it connected to the front wires and finished by lunch. Still need to try to get headliner tucked under bows ,but that might take two people.

Stock headliner is a little dingy , hoping to clean it up somehow without any more breakage.

Good work! The nice part of making your own parts is not only do you get free shipping but they also come with the good feelings of a job well done! :metal::metal::metal:

Thanks . It is also alot easier searching for a piece of scrap steel in my pile of "I'll save this for something someday" than doing a online search for a piece of unobtainium. If you know what I mean. ;)

Looks like fun. They used to have a fly in breakfast about 30 miles from me but no car show with it. I guess I should have mentioned it to them.....

It's a annual thing, this is the first time I was able to make it out. They have a pretty good turn out.

I have not posted anything about the Burb cause all I've done is drive it lately. It must've gotten jealous of the fact that I bought a new radiator for my '35 Pickup (lol) because yesterday I was driving back from getting groceries and it just died. After getting it back to the house and checking a few things I changed out the HEI ignition module and it started right up.

Re: 1968 C10 Suburban

I replaced the fuel tank and sending unit in Oct '22 and one day last year the fuel gauge stopped working . One time it actually did work but quit again . I been writing down my mileage so I could keep track and not run out ... Well , I haven't looked at my 'lil notebook lately and OOPS , I ran out about a half mile from the house . When it died I thought OH NO WTF and then I looked at my notebook and realized I haven't put gas in since Dec 17th. I went around 246 miles since then , I walked to the house and grabbed a can that I keep for the mowers . There was less than a gallon in it , so when I put that in and got it running I went back to town (about 3 miles) . I ended up putting in 19.3 gallons , that comes up a little less than 13 miles per gallon. I also filled my can for the mowers in case I need it . I was going to take the instrument cluster out and change the gauge to see if that was the problem, but the funny thing is now the fuel gauge is working ... I also took my shift lever out of the column and sprayed PB Blaster in and got it loosened up 'cause it was getting hard to shift it into reverse and park .

My wife has had to come and rescue me a few times.... :(.. It is a running joke with my friends, they say that any new project of mine isn't christened until My wife has to come and get me or bring me some gas...... It does sound like a bad connection or ground though.

I've come into the house a few times to her saying "What's wrong" or "What happened".... I only call her for help as a last resort........ I have checked the wires at the tank as best I can without dropping the tank.

You know how they say things seem to snowball. I was mounting a pair of speakers I made to fit a stock dash speaker bracket for a bluetooth amp https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...7&postcount=52 (it all started with post #44 by dmack91)and ...Well, follow along.

I took out the glove box insert to get to the stock speaker and the radio had to come out and then I thought ... I've got to get this out of the way to put on the new dash pad I have so why not keep going, so now I've got the dash taken apart and I might as well get a new bezel while I'm this far and ordered one Today. More to come

The speakers look good. I should have pulled my guages when I put my speakers in. I'm sure it would have saved me some work as our guages are pretty easy to remove compared to most.

Moved the speakers out about a 1/2" to center them in the hole a little better. I had some new defroster vents to put in already and I've got a new ignition switch bezel coming as well.

Man, you are going to have tunes now.

Did you buy the ignition protector or make it yourself. I need something like that on a couple of my trucks....

Thanks! We've been having weekly cruise nights every Tuesday since March 12th. I've been handed the reigns to a local Car Club that was started in the 50's that kind of died out 'til around 10 years ago when someone found some history on it at the Museum in town and started it up again. The two guys that were the ones that rejuvenated it have moved away and left me to be The Man. All we do is hang out in a parking lot on Main for a couple of hours. It has grown from 6 or 8 cars to as many as 25. And I have to drive a different Chevy each week so they don't feel left out.;) We'll do it 'til Nov. after time change.
