alot of people just put a 90 degree hose barb and a length of hose on it.

I prefer to use this combination of parts when i can. You can find these at jegs.com

Dave, I got a question, what fuel pump would you suggest for your FI tank? Intank or external?

Thanks

If you purchase a EFI tank from us then it will be an internal Walbro GSS-342HP

if you wanted to use a standard tank and your own inline external pump we just need to put a return on the tank for you.

hope that helps

Wow what a great group buy. I couldn't have asked for it to go any better. The final day will be 4-21-10 at midnight. so you can get your order in online untill then or give me a call. if you order by phone on the last day you have untill 5:30. if you miss me send me a pm or email and we will get you in.

few notes:

One of my guys told me we have more senders than tanks so looks as if maybe one or two tanks left without a sending unit. just email me and ill get it out to you.

If you ordered an EFI Tank they are taking a little longer and will leave ASAP.

other than that guys THANK YOU we really appreciate it.

A question that I need answered. If I go with this rear mounted tank- will I be able to use a receiver type hidden hitch? (finally tired of gas smell in cab)

in post #5 it looks as if there is a hitch mounted with the tank. can anyone confirm his question?

Is anyone else trying to put on of these tanks on a coil sprung swb? I just got my frame back from sandblasting & paint (didn't have my frame here when i ordered the tank) and the tank won't fit... The 2nd to last crossmember that runs across at an angle that holds the track bar mount is in the way - I measured from it to the last crossmember on the frame on one side its 17", and on the other its 18". I have pictures, but my wife has my usb cable to connect my camera to the computer, and of course she's not here. Looking back, I see the pics on this thread are leaf sprung trucks. Thats what I get for not measuring my own junk before ordering. I REALLY don't want to cut on my freshly painted frame, I don't know what my options are at this point. I will post pics later this evening to show you guys what I'm talking about.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Aw crap, hope I don't have the same problem since mine is a SWB coil spring truck. I don't remember the cross-member being like that though. Now I am gonna wonder until I get home tomorrow night.

Any updates Dave? I pm'd you. Thanks

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

The crossmember is crooked from the factory. Pissed me off. I went to try and put a fuel cell in and it didnt fit...Fits on the drivers side, but not the pass.

BossHogg69 05-07-2010 09:28 AM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Here's a link http://www.classicperform.com/Store/.../6372AGTBS.htm to a pic from CPP, their tank is just like Dave's, only the top rear corner is angled to fit up under the rearmost crossmember, allowing you to clear the angled crossmember that holds the track bar.

Daveboyd 05-07-2010 10:06 AM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I was unaware the crossmembers were that crooked. I will be changing the design. I will be monitoring this thread closely. I am here if you guys need me. just let me know. Ill do the best i can to help.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I'm guessing it's probably more cost effective for me to just find someone local to 'adjust' my tank. Shipping this thing back and forth again would be expensive.

If you would like us to do the adjustments. you pay shipping back to us we will adjust the tank for a very small charge just to cover consumables and we will pay shipping back to you. here is an overview of what we will perform if you decide to go this route.

we will notch off the rear corner as much as possible. Reweld, pressure test and ensure the tank is safe and still covered under your warranty. Repackage and ship to you as fast as we can to reduce your downtime.

if you do decide to go to someone local and have your tank adjusted please understand that i can no longer warranty your tank.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dammit, I measured mine and it is the same as BossHogg's. I guess I will look into moving the rear crossmember back or replacing it with a straight piece. I wasn't expecting to have to do anything like this. I should have measured, but I assumed since the tank is designed for 67-72s it would fit.
Thanks for the update Dave.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave, what would be the price on a EFI setup tank now? I hate I missed the group buy. Also what is the expected build time on this, just a ballpark figure at the longest? I'm trying to get my 67 running/driving in time for my wedding in September. Also mine is a coil, swb, so I may need the same angled modification as BossHogg.

Thanks,
Garrett
