Not staggered, but if your block has holes for a non-staggered starter it might work.

Everytime I would go to the auto parts store they would tell me that the starter for a v8 with a th350 needed to have the offset mounting holes. I would tell them, that is not what is on there now. One parts clerk did not believe me and told me to bring my old starter in. When I did, he confirmed it was not for a manual tranny set-up and as a matter of fact he could not even find the starter in his picture parts book. He sent me to an old skool starter rebuild place and when the old-timer there saw the starter he said, that's an old-one! (whatever that meant.) He went in the back and came out with a rebuilt starter for me, took my old one as the core. I will take a look in my stash and see if I can find that starter and maybe get a part number or pic of it for you. Maybe your v8 needs one of these types of starter.
Dano

That's why I was thinkin if nothing seems to be working, then try the non-staggered kind of starter. Although I think you'll use a different (283) flywheel, ask VDOG.

Well been working all morning again on my truck and still no sucess!!! Im pretty frustrated !! Even made a homemade brace for he starter because i really think the starter is moving. We got it to crank a few times pretty good then filled the tranny and when i cranked it grinding again!!!!!! Had my homie come by and help today hes an aircraft mechanic and we both think that its moving we made a brace from some angle iron to try fo see if it helps. But cant get it to crank without grinding i really need my trcuck on the road again!!!!

Holy cow! They're running cars at Adams?! I've got tons of laps in a shifter there, but I can't even wrap my head around a full size car on that track! How's the Monza wall?

Welcome to the SoCal page. Stay tuned to this post, we tend to have meets every few months. Trying for one more before the year is out. Probably in Upland. We have some members out your way also.

Sometimes its hard to get some of us together due to other obligations so if we space them out the guys can plan the meet around the other things they have to do. And it gives us time to attract other members who have never been.

I've been going there for or five times a year for about 20 years. Seeing Detroit mules is the best part.

I usually try to organize get-togethers in February (IE), May (SFV), August (LA), and November (OC). This is probably the last year I'll do it though.
