Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks Johnathan! :chevy: My 4 favorites of these trucks:
1) Tailgate 2) Front/hood curves 3) Roundness of cab top 4) Rear wheel tubs :metal: Here are some better pics from outside. Still needs clear sanded and polished. http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05764.JPG http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05766.JPG http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05769.JPG http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05773.JPG |
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
It looks great. Your brother does some awesome work!
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks man! :metal:
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Beautiful, great job, I'm sure your proud of the work....Jim
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks Jim, yes, very! It isn't a show truck but is 1,000 times nicer than when we started! :metal: Can't wait to get her on the highway and really open her up. It wants to scream when I step on it, considering the most torque is around 3-4K I think it'll run real nice on the open road.
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Love the color! Your doing a great job bringing it back to it's former glory. I bet you are excited to get it out on the road
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks for the kind words :chevy: It's a really fun truck to drive :metal:
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Hit the bedsides today. Tailgate tomorrow.
We may only hit the tubs on the inside and leave the rest. Look at the funny picture of my brother in the reflection haha  http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05776.JPG http://ilsiciliano.net/truck/DSC05777.JPG |
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
You're gonna flip when a bird craps on it! (Pot callin kettle black here..). Looks sweet brother
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks man :chevy: I'll only flip if it stays on there a few days  Bird crap damages clear coat/paint.
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Beautiful!
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks :metal: For those wondering, and to repeat my brother yesterday - if a bird craps on the truck now, it will immediately (etch) screw up the paint. :uhmk:
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
out of curiousity has anyone else noticed the house that looks like it caught fire in the background....id keep your truck away from that place with that new paint on your truck!
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
I noticed that house too. Looks like it's had some water damage (roof looks patched), water - something else my truck avoids also. ;)
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Got the rear bumper and taillights on.
|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

|
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks for the kind words :chevy:
He doesn't like me that much. It's been years and he'll get paid. Not free. :ito: Oh and, if you haven't read through the build thread, my brother isn't the only one who's worked on the truck  He actually mentioned buying it from me the other day. I thought that was a kind gesture. |
Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

I had freshly painted my '49 when "someone" threw a 2x4 in the back... It bounced and spiked off the back of the cab. First dent about a week in. Ugh... "It's no that bad. Can't even see it". Aaaaaaaaaagh!!! |
