how about a new pic with it painted and the wedge off

I believe this truck didn't have power brakes originally. I don't even know what year that was an option. It looks like they made it work IMHO. I mounted it like what was in your pic and I believe it won't work. I don't have my booster with me cause it is at work. I need to check the angle on the back of the booster. Anyway here are some pix

Thanks, There won't be any major updates for a while. Getting the cab done is a major hurdle. I'll keep updating but nothing really exciting.

More pics on next post

This is what went on tonight. Got the gauges and seats in place and took some outside shots with the doors on.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09774.jpg

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09781.jpg

Started digging thru parts that I have accumalated over the past 2 years. Is this a hood seal that goes under the cowl screen? I bought my seals from someone that didn't need them. There is only a part number on the bag no company name.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09784.jpg

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09785.jpg

Door, windshield , back glass and fender weatherstrips

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09787.jpg

Put one door seal on temporarily

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09788.jpg

And this is how far it will close. I've heard of people having trouble with them. I've got some adjustments and massageing to do. I wish I would have looked at the seals while I was doing the sheetmetal work. I thought they wouldn't stay in place unless you glued them. I was wrong. I could have beat it into submission before paint.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09789.jpg

It's hitting the seal pretty good at the bottom of the A post.

seems with it mounted the other way it will put your master at a pretty steep angle....I will look at our cab holes when I get to work...

Dang Alan, your making me feel like a slacker. Your getting all this done and all I have time for is work, baseball with 2 boys, and dance for my little girl.

I missed getting on here for a day and had to read 2 1/2 pages to catch up.

Summer is coming, maybe I can get some progress made????:waah:

Keeps getting better...:metal: Keep it going and you will be driving her in no time.

Thanks for the pic Joe. It looks like that is what they did, cause I've got some extra holes. They rotated it 90 degrees. I don't remember, but I don't think it was angled up that much. I'll mock it up the way it was and see. Of coarse i can't remember what I did yesterday.

Got a few more things painted or repainted I should say.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09795.jpg

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC09796.jpg

Wanted to hang the sheet metal to see how it matches since I'm painting one piece at a time. Other than the fender match, it was sprayed with sikkens base. The rest is PPG. The sikkens was left over from another project. I need to repaint the fender anyway because I'm welding the joint up on the front of the fender. While I'm at it I'll respray the core support.
The color changes alot from no flash to flash. You can definately see the color difference between the fender and inner fender. I think the main reason it doesn't match that good is because I don't believe I got enough color on top of the fender. The fender to door is really close.

No flash

Had problems with the glove box door. The base busted up on me. You know what happens when you try a short cut. It bites you.

Thanks Scott, I forgot to prime it when I primed the other things so I said what the heck I'll try it, knowing it might bust on me. Your right it is a small item. I'll get it ready to spray with the fenders.

Thanks X5

Wasn't able to do alot this weekend. I did strip down the old passenger door to see what condition everything was in and also adjusted on the door to get it too shut with the rubber installed. I haven't glued it yet just trying to get the door closing better. Before I couldn't even get it too shut. Now she's tight but will shut. I want to see if the rubbers will compress some. I know they will over time. I also listed more stuff for sale and getting ready to part out the other truck so I can pay some bills. It was going to go to the truck fund, but not now. I'll see if I can squeak something out of it depending if anything sells. This will be my worst week since being a bodyman 10-15 hours for the week. It is getting scary. Anybody know where I can get a job teaching autobody?

This is what happens if I don't take care of things right away or write it down. When I fitted the left cowl side panel it was hitting the fender. I sat it too the side and forgot about it. At least I will be repainting the fenders anyway.

Not much too speak of. Tore my old doors down too see what has to be replaced. Need parts to continue with the doors.

Got the booster on and seeing how the 72 master cylinder will work on it. The actuator rod on the 65 is adjustable and I believe I've got it close. I priced a reman M/C from advance auto $18.49 w/$10 core or new for $55.49. I could clean this one up, but why bother with it not knowing the condition of it. The reman might last just as long. I want the new one but the reman is more affordable. We'll see. Tried to hook up the rod to the pedal, now keep in mind this is what came off of this truck. With the pedal resting on it's stop the rod won't adjust long enough to hook up. It's been a while, a long while, but it makes since to adjust it too the pedal when it is in the resting position. It kind of threw me for a loop. It looks like the 72 rod is the same length. I'll get some pics of it tommorrow. Here is the M/C installed

I had some adjustment left. The 72 stick out further (if they were adjusted right before).

Re: My 1965 build thread

Alan do our trucks really have to have the bracket, I ordered my BB/MC from brotheres trucks and they didn't say anything about the braket!
