Wanted to stay 'period correct' ya know. lol Just sprayed the clear, did everything in gloss, figured if I want the floor matt finish it'll be a quick & easy spray later. Put a nice skid mark under the clear that'll be there forever too. No big, the floor will no doubt get pretty scratched up anyway. Pics aren't so great under the shop lights, sorry. |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
wouldt it be nice if it kept that wet look:lol:

Re: Project: Agent Orange
What are you going to do in the bed area?

That's exaclty how it still looks now that it's dry. |

Same thing, I did it in sections to keep each job (section) at a more managable level. |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
Man... if the picture color is accurate, it really POPs. What color orange is that? The rest of the truck going to get that?

It's basic Hugger Orange. If the sun's out, I'll get a couple pics of it outside, looks a lot different in daylight. Correct, the rest of the truck gets the same paint. Orange Peel, Orange POP... |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
Man that looks nice Kurt!
When will you spray the rest? |

Thanks Jim but that's 5 different trucks counting the frame. ;) |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
Are you going to stiffen or box the frame any to keep it from flexing when offroad?
|

No, going with a full cage to cure that, possibly even a front hoop. |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
Looks good VT. Do you think the lizard skin would look right as a re-texture on the original roof? Mine needs redoing but I'm not sure how I'm going to go about it.

Re: Project: Agent Orange
If the factory woulda coated things like this, our restorations would be so much less work !!
Can you imagine ?!?!?!? Great job! |
Re: Project: Agent Orange

No doubt...if the factory would of at least put 'something' on the back side of the sheet metal even...:sumo: |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
Getting rid of the factory hood hinges, found a better option right here on the board.

Re: Project: Agent Orange
So, uh, what holds the hood open with those? No springs...
EDIT: I can't figure out what the plate in the last pic is either. Been a long Monday. |
Re: Project: Agent Orange
You can use gas struts from a 94-96 impala ss or caprice. I used them on my 97 and it worked like a charm...
Seems like porterbuild is send alot of product to Vermont......:metal: |
