:agree: ,there is no such thing as "too many pics". I hope that your father in law realizes how good he has it, a son in law that's not only rebuilding his corvette but is also running his business while he's away. There's not many people willing to put themselves through that kind of extra stress these days. Between your own business, family, responsibilities I wonder how you're finding the time sleep, let alone work on your truck or make any posts!

All that aside, keep up the good work John - not too much longer and you'll be on the road again.:burnout:

Re: Project "Rock-a-Billy".....Saga Continues.....

Right on guys.

I have one thing to say to all of you here.....Out of all the forums I have been on, this one has the most content of motivation and help for one another by far. Everyone here seems to lend a helping hand to everyone, either by info, or just by cool comments...like I've seen here with my truck.

On other forums that I post on for my "Lowrider" customers...there are tons of "haters".....Everyone's seems to be on a sarcasism trip or just plain talk'n s#!t....

I really appreicate all the words spoken here. Some of you have mentioned that I have motivated you...Well, those words seem to have got me going as well.

Sometimes, I put in only like an hour a day.....but that makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.....

Anyway, with that said, I will continue my project and my "Project Pics":metal: :metal: :metal:

I agree with you John, this is a great site to get and give help, I have always thought that if the haters want to pay me to build it there way I will if not then zip it. Will see what happens when I put 15" wires on my truck. lol
Keep up the great work and keep posting pics !!!

Gotta agree with you, Chief. This site seems to have a good, positive vibe to it and is a WEALTH of knowledge. Everyones' builds are in different stages, but on this site, someones already "been there, done that". The important thing about that is, they are willing to share their knowledge, which is priceless. Thanks in advance for the future knowledge I will undoubtly gain through you Guys.

Flatbroke..Slepy..Scott........:metal: :metal:

I just had to get sentimental on you guys for a minute on the above post  :whine: :metal:

Last night I started my alternator mock up....These 202's have no accessory holes, so I used the front mount and z-bend a piece of 1/4" X 1". It doesn't even budge...Today I will hopefully finish the upper adjusting bar.

That motor is looking nice.

I also agree this is the best forum, I'm on about 8 differant motorsport forums but I hardly visit the other ones since I found this one.

Hey Chiefrocka,
You mean you don't have any front-to-back deflection at all. cool.
I can deal with "fuzzy pics" keep em' comming. This thread motivated me to get off my lazy-butt last night and fix the headlights on my truck. Now all I have left to do is get the clear title put a tag on it, and fix the dern wiper motor.

I just read through this whole thread, and I'm very impressed! I love your truck and I love the work you're doing to it! I wish I had the time and money to do that kind of resto to my '80.

Keep up the great work!

I'll be looking forward to more pics soon.

Hey John, how much for one of those neato alternator brackets? I'm stuck with the same prediciment with the heads!

ChiefRocka 04-13-2007 10:20 AM

Re: Project "Rock-a-Billy".....Saga Continues.....

No big deal man...I'll make you one for nothing !!! I used the outer existing bracket...Do you have that one ??

I finshed it off last night.....I got the upper long adjusting arm from Kragens...they only had it in chrome....I couldn't find one in my stash of Impala parts.

Anyway, let me know and I'll just make a copy of mine....your running a long water pump, I'm assuming ??

Re: Project "Rock-a-Billy".....Saga Continues.....

OK, I took the advice of Slepy and many of you others, and decided to split my brake-lines now before drop'n in the engine...(way easier to bend the lines).....

As mentioned in my other thread, I had a disc/drum master from a 76 Cutluss that was new..sitting in the cellar for years. (middle pic).....I decided I will save that one for when I do the disc thang !!!

The one on the left is the stock (obviously)

Now the one the right is a NEW drum/drum master I picked up at Kragens for under $30...I asked for a 67-70 IMPALA drum/drum car...non P/B....Can't beat the price !!!

Then I went to RoyalBrass and pick all the fittings and the line I needed to do the conversion...(I didn't get enough line...:whine: )
