Only because it was necessary, that wasn't the first cut ya know. ;)

Trying to save the section towards the front corner that rolls into the tranny cover mount, it's pretty pitted but looks solid enough so far.
We'll see how it holds up to the blasting.

It's a common rust area, carpet and/or floor matts that held water.

Yes and it looks like we'll be using almost all of it too.

Going to replace the body mount but after that it's time to start closing thing's up.

And yet another example of quality workmanship nears completion, good job! Saved one from the crusher...

Are you taking that last pc. out by the high hump or splicing it in?

Saved one from the crusher?

Not by a long shot. It's also far from completion. I still have stainless lines to run, a fuel tank to fabricate, doubler installation, cage fabrication, efi and vehicle harness to wire... all in all another 100 hours of work.

It was easy to write checks for this portion of the project but there's far more to go.

I'll delete that part if it offends you;)

Nice work. Gotta love getting one side closed up only to have to cut a big friggin' hole in the other side.... Are you going with the truck outer floor on this side too? Its a handy dandy piece. You'll have it knocked out in no time.

Nah, just pointing out that I wish this were done already.

:waah:

It's not even Kurt's fault this is taking as long as it does. My Brother in law, who I am building this for, takes forever to send funds. This project was supposed to be done by Christmas, 07. Now when I get this back, it's smack in the middle of the K30 conversion.

Heh, this is no restoration... this rig will be sitting on 39" tires with a full cage and a 124:1 low range.
:sumo:

Heck, he even has the funds, it's the time that he doesn't have.

Passengers side inner rocker fit.

Started to work on installing the body mount thinking it'd be a good day, progress-wise only to find out it was the slip over type that was sent.

Looked into using it but the fit was crap so I choose to order another one.

Lots of other stuff to work on while it's being shipped.
Started stripping/mudding the quarter for primer.

When the weather permits, it's outside for blasting.

Gotta agree on the slip ons, saw it on another truck and didn't like them. Seems like your just encapsulating the rust...Nice work and progress!!

Lots of pics on the kick panel, pls. When you get into it...

Pushed it outside to finish cleaning up the pass. side quarter and get it in primer.

Got the pass. side floor pan down to 'close' but still waiting for the floor support to show up.

Primed and sealed.

Needs to be blocked out yet but it's progress.

:uhmk: weeks been crazy...between forgetting to bring the camera to the shop and forgetting to bring it home to down load the pics. :dohh:

Got a lot checked off the list though.
*Cab support installed
*Inner rocker installed
*Outer rocker fit and ready to go

One piece left to do and it's already rough cut to size and shape so it should go quick.
