So you're planning to put a laminate on it? Interested to see what you go with and what you find to protect it. I know they make something at Home depot that would go over anything...they had fabric badges, pennies, stickers, on a stained piece of wood in the paint dept. THey had put 10 layers of the stuff on and it looked to be almost 1/8" thick...I would have put less....

Well, I want to make my truck look like it's black granite in the bed. So i had this Kooky idea to try a formica or laminate. Been told it is impossible. I want to put a clear epoxy on it but I don't know if there is one that adheres to it. I know I was going to get alot of flack for this on here seeing that i've been getting alot from the old school cats I know personally. I gave up on it a couple years ago, but I've been revitalized in the idea. I'm a creative and visual person, so i can see it in my head!!!! If I pull it off the naysayers will eat their words!!!!! It's just not looking hopeful right now!!!

Well I'm a little stubborn and hardheaded!!!! I've decided to kill that insane idea!!!! Sigh!!! No black foose nitrous rims in 22's and now this. I'll make up for it with my upholstery...headed to get me some sanding materials for my wood and a beautiful red mahogany stain. Going to order me a clear UV resistance epoxy coat to give it that glass look!!!

Well my new disc brake kit made it today!! It's just me and the kids for the next couple of days wife is working. I got a 2 year old daughter. This will be the first time I try and install a brake kit. The rear seem rather easy. The front is another story. POL supplies tie rods, ball joints everything. When I bought the truck the guy had changed all the tie rod's and ball joints out. Seeing that this is a 63-70 Disc brake kit. Will it work? Should I just leave the originals on they are pratically new. Never used.Well at least I have time to reseach this on the forum page. Help me out guys. Little picture to wet your taste buds!!!

Received some good news yesterday!!! Well I had been waiting for the funds and time to get me some of the Foose Nitrous Rims, just to find out they were discontinued in 22's!!!! Ive looked and looked to no avail. I had gave up and was considering the Legends! Well Rims N Tires called yesterday and told me they will be back in 6 to 8 weeks!!!!! I initially wanted the black ones, but they are only coming chrome!!!! I think I'll be okay!!

Had a rough two days working on the truck, tried to install my 4 inch drop coils in the back. Bottom bolt heads broke. Top ones striped. Cut passenger side coil out with grinder. Top mounting clamp bolt stripped!!!! Grinder gave up on me!!!! Couldn't find a blade that would cut the coil with my reciprocal saw... Sigh! I've never embarked on something like this. Very mechanically ignorant. Frustration!!!!! A little discouraged but not giving up!!!! If once you fail try try again!!!!!

Well, finally got those rear coils prings out. 40 years!!! Couldn't salvage the Coil Spring retainer cup. Pretty rusted anyway. I'll get new ones with new hardawre. I have a 2inch drop spring for the front and some 4 inch drops in the back. Can I go with a 3 inch and a 5 inch coil spring without having to, C-Notching the frame?

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro

Yes, you're fine without a notch with a 3/5 drop. Just make sure to get the right shocks and shock relocators and an adjustable trac bar if you're going that low in the rear

How about the clearance for 22's on that drop with a 35 series tire?
