I ordered a polished and anodized cover for the shifter. I hope it makes it by the weekend.

Nice!!! I bet his girlfriend is going to love the location.....

Maybe some tire smoking video soon! It's amazing how much quieter it is with the cut outs and 3 inch magnaflows.

Agreed. It sounds good. How much cam is in it? Its a 468 right? My 496 sounds good with headers open too.

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

It has the edelbrock Performer RPM Cam in it. I think the motor is standard but it might be 30 over. I have been working on the old motor for several years. I bought the motor complete but needing assembly. I upgraded to a closed chamber Dome Piston and 781 oval Ports. I just couldn't do the peanut ports and Flat tops it came with.

I can't wait either. I am gonna try to get some gauges in it this weekend and finish up some wiring. I got to get some miles on it before Cruisin the Coast. I probably won't beat on it too hard at the track till after that. I have been to cruisin the coast for the last three years wishing I had this truck done.

Starting to look like a truck again. I'm gonna try to get a tag and insurance this week. I want to put some miles on it before Cruisin The Coast!

Started on the gauge cluster but I have a really long way to go. All Autometer Pro Comp gauges mounted behind a stock bezel.

Only way you could help much would be a road trip. But thanks for the thought. I am just a little lacking in the spare time department. Cross your finger's I don't have a cam problem.

It's coming along slow but sure. I may have a cam problem and If I do that will probably kill it coming to CTC. Fixin to go out in the shop and get back on it.

Not running that great yet I got a few bugs to get out.

bigboybodry 10-01-2012 06:57 PM

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

I hope there not the same cam problems I was facing killing distributor gears.

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

What master cylinder is that I am needing one?

djracer 10-02-2012 07:47 PM

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

It's a factory Chrysler Master Cylinder. I had one on the drag truck and it went bad. I crossed reference the dorman number on summits website. I already had the Tank and a reman was 20.00 at Oreillys. The complete unit is 28 at Summit. You do have to widen out the mounting holes a little and change your fittings on your lines. Also front line is close to the firewall and rear line is to the front. (learned that the hard way)

Lowered the front last night and installed the new front shocks. Gonna try to get the gauges in the dash tonight and get an alignment tomorrow. My 3 3/8 water temp gauge is sent off at the moment. The Thermo coupler was bad. I hope it makes it back before Cruisin the Coast.
